First Handi
« on: June 05, 2013, 04:09:57 PM »
Picked up my first NEF Handi in 22-250 tonight.  It's used but it's hard to tell.  Can't wait to get to the range.  I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

Good choice of caliber...seems everyone has ammo for sale in 22-250...might as well have something you can actually shoot.
12g shortie w/chokes,Tamer .410,12g "Buck" slug gun w/20g extra barrel, 12g smooth bore tracker I, 45/410 w/22vp matched set, 7mm-08, .308 20",

my avatar pic is my 1960 Rambler I bought in 1972 for $175..6 banger 3-on-the-tree...drove it for 5 yrs  22mpg.. was "hot-rodding" (LOL) one night...tore out 1st/reverse gear. Drove it that way for 2 yrs(with no reverse and only 2nd and high)  Had to really plan ahead when parking.

I wish you lots of fun with the .22-250.  My first one was the only Handi I couldn't get to shoot. I bought it used also.  Don't panic, I'm not trying to scare you.  I sent it up to Brian56 at H&R.  He rebarreled it, sent it back free of charge and today it is a sub-MOA shooter at 300 yards  You might keep in mind that it merits good variable power glass to fully take advantage of it's long range.  It ain't a 50 yard plinker.  Best of luck with it.

I gotta run, there's a dead cow on a friends pasture and the crows and vultures are gathering.  That's a dinner bell for coyotes.  The .22-250 and I are gonna have a look see.
