Willing to bet a Santa Monica campus is another one of the "we will keep you safe" gun free zones. Gun free zones just create the exact opposite of their intent.

Every CA school is a gun-free zone.

On top of that, the city of Santa Monica is one of the biggest hotbeds of Liberalism in the State. The City police, the SMC "Campus Safety Department (a separate official Police Department with sworn LEOs)" and city govt try their best to not let anything nasty get out to the press if possible. Wouldn't want their picture of a Socialist utopia to be stained by the blood of gun violence; "It doesn't happen here." Yeah, okay.

I know better. I attended Santa Monica College for two years back in the 80's.

Geeezzzzz... just in time for the next gun-grab push...
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

That is exactly the idea. Any time the liberals create one of their socialist utopias with gun free zones, zero tolerance policies, everybody is equal, nobody loses, etc... they want very badly to prove their ideas work. The problem is when their ideas fail repeatedly they will never humble themselves and admit they are wrong. Its never their ideas that are the cause of failure. So failure of their ideas continue. With blame getting transfered to guns or weapons.

Every article you read about a shooting, the term "gun violence" is used. Its used to create the idea that guns create violence. Its a term we have been so saturated with, that pro gun people even use it when talking about shooting crimes. When someone is convicted of vehicular homicide, is the term vehicle violence ever used? Gun violence is used by the disarmament crowd to create the mind set that guns create violence, and we that know better need to quit using the term.

Bad guys love soft targets. Its a proven fact that criminals prey are weaker victims, and the only way that is stopped is for the weaker victims to defend themselves with firearms. Its a concept the socialist utopia crowd can't comprehend, mainly because they have been indoctrinated with the idea that "guns are bad", and can't enter the fact that guns are a tool that can also be used to defend from evil intent.

You're exactly right DDZ.

Indoctrination - it works especially well on the weak-minded and uninformed.  But, we all have to be careful we don't start repeating the left's catch phrases.

From what I can tell it worked its way to the campus. Where was the "campus police" during all this?

Shouldn't California be one of the safest and happiest places in the universe with all of their gun control and feel good nonsense?  ::)

There is a lot of things going on that if spoken about before being revealed as fact would be conspiracy loonie thinking.  ::)

I was saying to my wife yesterday "Now isn't that convenient for somebody". Bet he is really far removed from anyone that would promote something like that or even instigate it! Prolly has total denyability, just like fast and furious.  Is that a reach.....maybe, maybe not.

I saw a picture of the guns used, and found it darned strange that the pistol was an older blackpowder cap and ball 6 shooter. Like a 70's spanish import or something. Not sure what to make of it but i won't be surprised to see california move to make blackpowder regulated just like modern firearms. Shame about another nutjob doing this.  :(

Funny you should mention that. Nearly every weekend, my Mother (76 years old at the time) visited the Santa Monica farmer's market where this incident occurred. 10 dead and 70 injured...

"He looked at what he had done, essentially shrugged his shoulders and said 'oops,"' prosecutor Ann Ambrose told the jury.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,222924,00.html

Only reason Mom didn't get to the market that day was because (thank God) she couldn't get off the bus in time. She exited at the next stop and decided to go to the park. She heard the emergency vehicles responding to the crash.

Just goes to show that "elderly driver violence" can happen just as easily as "gun violence," anywhere, anytime.

boarhuntr - I wondered why the police and media were so hush hush about any information on the suspect and that may explain it!

Had to look all over to find his name (Zawahri), finally found it on the blaze.  Thought it odd he would kill his brother and father over his father's divorce, but his beliefs may have something to do with it.

Wonder if he came here on a student visa!! ::)
