This was a self defense shooting.  The police was satisfied of that and had no plans of arresting Zimmerman, till the news media lied, manipulated the 911 call to make it look like something it was not.  It's been a Kangaroo Court ever since.  This is only taking place to satisfy the radicals that jumped on it as racially motivated, which it was not.  Again it is a Kangaroo Court, the Attorney General and State Prosecutor have already pronounced him guilty, now the state has to make it so in court.  If he is found innocent there will be rioting in the streets and they can not have that.  So an innocent man will be sacrificed to placate the racist radicals in the area.

Much of what I am seeing here is from the media hype, which was proven untrue.  I looked at the police reports, and witness reports.  The things the news media did not alter.

Zimmerman was out of his vehicle, reported the man walking around in a random manner looking in windows.  The dispatcher told him to return to his vehicle, and on his way back to the vehicle he was jumped by Martin.  Martin hit Zimmerman in the face knocking him down.  Then Martin sat on Zimmerman's chest and started slamming Zimmerman's head against the sidewalk.  At this point Zimmerman shot Martin.

Questions needing to be answered are?  Why was martin walking around in a random manner.  It was raining at the time, why was he not walking straight back to his father's girlfriend's home?  The drink he had purchased along with Skittles, and a medicine found in the medicine cabinet at the home he was staying at can be used to make a powerful substance used for getting high.  Martin had a record of substance abuse.  In fact Martin was there because he had been kicked out of school for substance abuse at his previous home.

Zimmerman was out watching due to recent break-ins in the neighborhood.  My question is when did the break-ins start?  When did Martin arrive in the neighborhood?  Did anyone run Martin's picture around the local Pawn Shops, or consignment shops?  A drug user given free access to a gated community, that's what I am seeing.

Last I heard ,,busting someone's nose then getting on top of  them and slamming their head into the pavement is frowned upon!
.
Not necessarily, if some strange unkown guy is following you around on a dark rainy night and heading you off, high on amphetimines, and brandishing a gun you might just stand your ground and deck the guy...all depends where you come from and your neighborhood I suppose. So we'll just have to see what comes out in the trial. I kind of lean to what Mike in Va said, though.

Show me anywhere in the USA that allows me to deck a guy that hasn't threatened me and has  the same right as I do for being where he is.

Zimmerman did what anybody would have done. Trayvon was just a thug looking for a victim. He got was he long had coming to him.

Zimmerman was out of his vehicle, reported the man walking around in a random manner looking in windows.

No windows mentioned from any tapes I heard.  He also told the dispacher he would meet the cops at the mail boxes near his truck and was told they were on the way .  Zimmerman was looking for a confrontation. He was the aggressor. The kid was leaving the area and at that point had done nothing illegal. Period.

Said he was looking at houses. I doubt he was looking for confrontation that is pure speculation , The kid attacked him from behind. As for the following , it seems when told they did not need him to do so he turned around and headed back and was attacked. If the kid was leaving why did he attack ? he would have had to change course ?

If I remember right, Zimm said he was looking for the address on the building when Trayvon attacked him. He "might" get a lesser charge, but most likely will get slammed for 2nd degree murder. I've packed a gun since I was a teen, and was technically illegal (I would rather be alive and in trouble than obedient and dead) until 1991 (CCW) I never got in trouble because I was taught from the git-go about the Reasonable Man Rule, which is only common sense really. I was always able to avoid or disengage confrontations, and having a gun made the difference between me wanting to stay and fistwhip the suckers and leaving. When one is armed, one has to, must be extra vigilant about one's actions. If I was on the jury, I would have to say that he should have stayed in the car; everything that happened after he got out was "uncalled for"..as for as Reasonable Man rule goes. Maybe he will get Manslaughter and a few years...I just don't see how any jury will let him go. It's sad for Zimm, and Trayvon was most likely a bad dude, but when Zimm got out of that car, he had no way of "knowing" who or what Trayvon was doing or intended. I'm strictly speaking from how I would see it if on that jury; because I know "I" would not have got out of the car in this case. Zimm might have a chance if none of the jurors had ever packed a gun and had any kind of training, in which case they will not be "as reasonable", and will put their feelings/sympathies before common sense. It just don't look good for Ol Zimm, sad to say but it really is a mess.

ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.

I've found that when I'm armed, I'm far less likely to get into a pissin' contest or be confrontational. Wasn't always that way - many many years ago, when I started carrying, I allowed myself to get into a confrontation with some jerk. He was insulting and mildly threatening toward a friend's wife in public. I was armed - I was actually carrying range bag to the car - and he saw it. I told him to leave, and he reached into the small of his back - "I've got a gun, too!" - my heart rate soared, I put hand on weapon and told him don't do it - at that point his pal grabbed him and they left. I was a half a blink from drawing it. I thought long and hard about that. The stakes are high, high, high - don't let yourself get into something that CAN BE AVOIDED. I don't think that Z had learned that lesson.

I still think he's being railroaded by the state to appease the howling mob, and it has race and polytics all over it.

My take, anyhow...
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.
