Spanish rifle chambers?
« on: February 23, 2004, 08:39:48 AM »
I just picked up my 2nd Spanish rifle, an Air Force Model 43 (8x57). At my first range session  found heavy tool marks on the fired cases. No swollen cases or any headspace problems. Just looks like the chamber was finished with a spoon. Same as from my Model 1916 in 7x57. Is this common in the Spanish military rifles? My Yugo mod 48 and Turk mod 38 rifles have chambers as good as any commerial rifles.  Thanks, mt

My 1916 model La Coruna 8X57 doesn't have that problem at all. I doubt that the problem is endemic with Spanish ordnance.
