How about a GBO 'branded' heavy weight leather 'watch fob' to hang off the sling swivel (or anything, for that matter)?

A GBO medallion might be a start. I know someone who might be able to cast some in Pewter. Anyone know if there was ever one made that could be used for a mold?
I think we have to get Greybeards' permission to use the GBO design first.

All great suggestions. 460s&w is interesting. However, my vote is for the 7x57 in mannlicher, but I'd buy one in any stock configuration in a heartbeat. If we are really allowed to go nuts then 6.5x55 and 257 Roberts, but I don't think they have ever been offered in a Handi.
Unofficially that is order number 5 for the 7x57, anyone else?

Anyone willing to take a guess at what it would cost per gun if a distributor would order the minimum run of 250 GBO guns?  Wholesale price, not retail.
"You are entitled to your own opinions, but you are not entitled to your own facts." - Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan

When you allow a lie to go unchallenged, it becomes the truth.

My quandary, I personally, don't think I have enough Handi's but, I know I have more Handi's than I really need or should have.

I think the odds of us all agreeing on the stock is slim so if we do this, perhaps we should just go with the cheapest synthetic so we can change it later.  Also I vote that the barrels be D&T'ed for iron sights even if they're not part of the deal...

Stock medallions were discussed not long ago, the bigger the order, the less they are per unit, I ordered a bunch for blackpowder shoot prizes 20yrs ago.

No ODD calibers like 7x57, 7x64, 7.62.
If they became available again then mine would be worth nothing should I ever decide to sell them!!!   :) ;) ;D
I do like the idea of a factory 460 S&W only with standard lenght bull barrel.

To all the people that make this forum possible you should proud. In less than 24 hours many members here have shown that they are proud to be part of this forum. Either with a medallion, brand, engraved stock or complete gun thy want to show that they are a member of GBO Handi holic to friends and family. I suspect many members here are like me and take great pride in their firearms and marking them with a GBO is a way to show great respect for this forum. The only part I don’t understand is why H&R doesn’t participate more here. You members here are the best advertising they have. A good word about their product from a respected person is worth more than any paid advertising in my mind.
Thank you

We did until Dec 2009, but he quit H&R/Marlin to work for Colt. We got a lot of things done, but many changes that we wanted fell on deaf ears when shared.  :(

Ok, how about a compromise.  A 9.3x74R with a 26" barrel and TDC stock!  That'd let you hunt anything even in Africa with most PH.  ;)

The non-standard 9.3mm bore would raise the special order quantity to 500 firearms by their 2009 requirements, dunno if it applies now tho,  they may have changed.

I think you're correct.  H&R is a fly spec in Freedom Group.  H&R makes a profit and has almost no cost's related to R&D or advertising.  And it's unlikely a mass killing spree will take place with a Handi.  I'd be surprised if the top execs pays any attention to H&R at all.  As long as we keep buying them they won't change a thing.

While I like my Handi's and would be interested in a GBO version, I haven't seen any concensus on cal. or anything else except the idea.  How are we going to get to a concensus?

The thought of a special run of rifles sounds great, but I think I am gonna spring for a T-shirt.  I don't get to take my Handi many places, (although they are well behaved. . .::) ) and I would love to explain what a Handi-haulic or GBO is!

I too would prefer a .25-35 but if the group goes 7x57mm, I'd still get one...

Right now I have a .25-06 but plan to load it down to around .25-35 to .257 Rob levels...

Someone once posted that he had "more money than God" in these boards. Where's he and all his money at now?  ::)

I think for a consensus to be made the calibers choices would need to be very limited and only calibers currently listed to avoid the 500 gun requirement.

I would suggest either 30-30 or 45-70.

Thanks, Dinny

Yes the M1 works for me too.
Would we need 250 for a exsisting cal. and a GBO stamp?
Or How about a GBO stock from a stockmaker - that wouldn't be a 250 group.

I think part of the problem is going to be that I don't think there are 250 of us on this list to make it happen...
