The best place to fight this is at the super market. Take the time to find the store manager, tell him you want to buy non GMO food. Tell Kraft, tell ConAgra, tell your local meat cutter.

You MUST create demand before supply will catch up. It is going to be expensive to be on the bleeding edge of this. Take heart though the Europeans have pretty much done this and are a source of both the food and the supply chain support American suppliers need.

If Americans demand a supply of GMO free meat and dairy it will pretty much a feat acompli. Bitching at your US Rep is a waste of time, they are bought and paid for. The produce manager however is not. WAL MART is a good place to start they have the buying power to make things happen.

To me trusting the fda saying that GMO foods are safe is like trusting the government saying they don't want to take your guns. I like my food the way it was created.

I'm surprised at walmart starting to get more organic and gluten free(a must for me) options, though i know different walmarts carry more or less of that depending on the area. Unfortunately my area isnt much nutrition inclined, and walmart is the only grocery store we have. Still they've been getting better options, i get the organic every chance i have, hopefully this trend continues on

Personally I would make a point of thanking the grocery manager. Reminding him there are people dependent on those selections. Every inch of shelf space is valuable property and can very easily be swapped out for another product that may or may not be more profitable.
