neighborhood noise
« on: June 23, 2013, 04:06:45 PM »
does anyone else have to listen to
the lowlifes of their neighborhood sit
out and listen to "music" that just
goes boomp-boomp-boomp-boomp
repetitively?

to me it sounds like a pair of monkeys with
a 2 pound rubber mallet in each hand sitting
on a 55 gallon drum beating for all they're worth.
i just don't see any redeeming quality or
entertainment value to that noise other than
noise for noise's sake.
when you can hear lyrics, it's all m-f, n-----,
bi-----, h--, etc.

i guess i'll have to have another early morning
lawn care concert  >:(

if i were to pop off something noisy
with flame shooting out, they'd come
get me with the swat team and helo.

in a couple of weeks when these folks
are shooting guns with live rounds in
the air you won't be able to raise any
interest from the law. same on jan.1

When we lived in Norman, we had a Native American guy who would get drunk( with all his mooching white buddies) and beat on a WAR drum all night ( still lived with his Mom).  The Police would not arrest him because he claimed  he was beating a ceremonial dance.  PC for sure.

It will catch up with you eventually. Mexicans and their loud music will move in all around you
in tents and horrible old motor homes living on welfare.
Just make sure you own the land for at least a quarter mile all around you.

you also have to have like-minded
neighbors in the country, as well as
the buffer zone. there are a lot of
meth-heads throughout east texas,
but most of the small town sheriff's
depts. delight in fixing some of these
white trash wagons. less p.c. to be
had and more consciousness of
small town dept budgets and voters.

That's a fact, plenty of all of it here in the Piney Woods. Our new Sheriff is doing his best to combat it, can't complain 'bout that, but with the buget he has to work with, there is a lot that slips thru. We just gotta be responsible, report what we can, offer our support and keep on, refuse to accept it and cow down to it. The offenders got a problem with me callin' the S/O, they can get over it. Its rediculas but we have security cams that record 24/7, send e-mail alerts to our cell phones, motion sensors and security lighting, 3 outside guard dogs and a flock of attack weiner dogs inside...  and with me touchin off a pound of black occasionally, we haven't had any serious problems....yet.

i've had to leave real quick a couple
of years ago on an emergency and come back
here, and left a bunch of tools on the porch.
it was 2 or 3 weeks before i got to go back, and
everything was as i had left it, even forgot to lock
the door.
most all of the country neighbors are all gracious,
thoughtful folks.(like it was here 40 years ago)
there are a few tatooed lip-ringed eyebrow-ringed
methheads here and there in the country, but
the s.o. stays on top of them so they don't get
to cause too much mischief. that and the neighbors
that will shoot a thief right off kinda keep the
crime rate down.  here not too long ago, they
broke in here in the city and got one of my mowers,
and none of the neighbors heard anything, or
seen anyone lifting my mower over the fence.
kinda odd aint it?

The other night I heard a gun shot and seen three guys running past the house at 3:00 am.
My first thought was it was odd for people to be running races at 3:00am down the street!

Loud cannons, known CCDW permit holder, and nearest human neighbors are the shoot first ask questions later types means you can have 10 to 20 acres and know peace and quiet.

The trick is to own the land all the way around you. There are to many people nowadays in this
economy who will sell a worthless piece of land to anyone with the cash.
In worthless I mean there is no water to drill for, or the county has restrictions on septic tanks.
No power poles or roads into the property but even that won't stop them they will haul thier water
in and do their business under the nearest tree.
Too lazy to even put in an outhouse the county won't do anything about it until it starts running into
a road or something or livestock starts eating on the used toilet paper that blows over.
I guess where they come from all this is common place but if they are right next to you even by 100
yards then you will know what I'm talking about.

It does get aggravating at times out here when those great horned Hoot Owls gather around late at night and begin serrenading one another.  Coyotes aren't a bother.  They'll Howl a little as the pass by.  Sometimes a polecat gets under the house and whew, that'll wake you up.  But all in all, they generally don't cause much disturbance.

It's pretty quite in my neck of the woods. I guess I should say my neck of the mesquite bushes as we certainly don't have trees except for the ones someone planted.  ;D About the only racket is between 5 & 6 AM when two or three diesel transports usually go by heading for work. The oilfield gets cranked up early but it's no problem because I'm up and drinking coffee by then. The local motorcycle club house is a mile past my house and I hear a few Harleys go by now and then. I rode one for a lot of years so that's just music to my ears.

What really gets my goat is all the trash that's thrown out along the road. I try to put a positive outlook  on it and just say it helps an old fart get his exercise but can't make myself really believe. it. I still usually say an expletive or three when I'm picking up all those Bud Lite bottles, especially the broken ones.  >:(

As far as skunks under the house. I've found that cat food and antifreeze works very well for that
problem. OMG, did I say that? If i said that i was wrong.

Thankfully the few that have been here were just shopping.  But we've had 'em get into our church, and I've caught them in live traps.  As long as they can't get their tail up, they won't spray.  At least not yet anyhow.

hillbill; sounds like around here, and I'm the older guy with neighbors who've known me all their life.   One of 'em used to saddle up his lil white shetland pony when he was just a towhead, and ride down here to watch us cowboys work my dad's cattle after the round up.  Guess I'm pretty ancient to them.

LoL!  The rear tires on ole Johnny in my Avatar stand just under 6'.  Last one I replaced was $800 plus the added service truck expenses.

Darn Mexicans. You would think they would live in nicer homes, considering all the money they make working in the fields.

I lived in the country but urban sprawl is catching up time to move. Years ago it was all the (C) rap noise( not music really) and other loud stuff with a beat. Out in the country it's kind of quiet until some one target shoots then loads of folks join in all over the place. At some point the guys (3 ) with full autos open up quite a sound. Then all goes quiet until next weekend .

I know a LEO who constantly gets complaints from the" white ,well to do ,city people" that moved into the countryside. Seem they don't like the smell of the manure the farmers spread on the fields. They also complain about all the " noise" the farmers make early in the morning, tending their fields. They want it stopped. He just tells them it ain't gonna happen and tells them to move back to the city to get away from it. ;D They have gone to the township supervisors and got the same response.
