Our nation will be punished for it's sins.  Look for more hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tornados, floods, droughts, and pressure from foreign nations.  Christians must pray for revival, and prepare for the worst.  God has two attributes, holiness and love.  His love can save us IF we repent of our sins and ask forgivness through Jesus' shed blood.  However His holiness demands punishment for sin.  When He turns his back on our nation, all hell will break loose.  Perilous times are ahead.  It started with in 1963 with no prayer and Bible reading in school.

It comes as no surprise to me.      An itch will ultimately be scratched.

Dixie Dude is right.   The LORD will punish this nation for its wicked and licentious behaviors.   He will do to America what he did to Sodom, Gomorrah, and Rome.

I issue this call to all Christian American patriots:   gather unto your house stores of food, oil, water, and ammo.     Protection of this nation, its culture, and its virtue will fall to us.   We must protect it from Muslims, liberals, socialists, and communists.   Remember to lube your bullets with pork products, by the way.

Folks, SCOTUS took a stand against Federal overreach today, and I pray we all can see and applaud that even in the midst of everything else. SCOTUS removed the opportunity for the current administration/congress to try to make a federal definition of marriage. By gutting DOMA the way it did, SCOTUS reinforced the Constitutional concept that it is the State's right to define marriage - not the Fed. And what the State calls a Marriage, must be recognized as such by the Fed. Right now that means 12 states will have gay marriage, 30 will not, and 8 are undeclared. And the Fed can't say boo about it ... we should like that, we should celebrate that, because the Fed cannot be trusted.

Recognize the larger picture ... if the Federal government could define marriage, and they were going to starting Sept 1 with the interim Same Sex Domestic Partner DOD ID card program, then what us conservatives would call marriage would be taken away from us over time. We're worried about 130,000 same sex couples ability to file joint on taxes, when statistically they contribute less than they take, when we should recognize that the long war is against marriage itself. I don't want the Fed to have the keys to that. So I see today as a victory for states' rights, particularly for the 30 states who have defined marriage between a man and a woman. SCOTUS gave nothing that would undermine their right to define that for themselves.

As for Prop 8, SCOTUS was not asked to discuss the legality of 3 activist judges overturning a popular election that declared in a sweeping landslide marriage as between a man and woman only. Were I a CA resident, I'd be storming the state Supreme Court, Governors office, and crying foul that legal votes are being swept aside. But that's not a Federal problem to solve either.

There are many many more fights looming on the horizon - polymarriage, bestiality, pedophilia, child marriage. As long as people continue to degrade the definition of marriage in culture, its only a matter of time before they'll vote to legalize anything. We've got to stop thinking we're a Union, divided into 50 more easily manageable states, and recognize we're 50 sovereign states, united for a limited purpose as defined by the Constitution. If you're not fighting for your State, you're missing the picture.

Spiritually, it was always only ever going to get a whole lot worse before it gets much much better.

TM good post.
I might add that all us straight folks  that defend marriage should get our own house in order . When more than half of all marriages end in divorce it is little wonder others don't believe we have that much respect for the union. I say that as a group . I have been married to the same wonderful lady for 35 years and feel I do respect the union God gave us.

The afterglow will be short lived. Prepare for the lawsuits. When a gay couple in one of the 12 states where it is legal move from that state to another state that does not recognize same sex marriage, the fun will begin. According to the Constitution, all states have to recognize licenses issued by all other states. Heterosexual couples do not have to remarry when they move to another state, and never have. That's the clincher. They will simply sue the state in federal court for discrimination. That state will then have to at least recognize the other state's license, or there are going to be a lot of very rich same sex couples at the expense of state coffers. It's a curve ball--- SCOTUS just gave the liability to the states, and the feds will still get to rule on the cases that come up. Just watch what happens.
If you give up, THEY don't have to win.

On what do you base the statement in bold? Only the Federal government has to recognize, which was the argument used by SCOTUS. Other states do not, and currently do not. I've been active duty military for several decades now, and this issue is widely known amongst married homosexual service members, as well as heterosexual ones. As a courtesy, no state has contested as fact the marriage of a heterosexual couple from another state, however divorce laws get sticky, and servicemembers must file for divorce in the state in which they were wed, unless the state they're in specifically has accommodated in legal code. You may argue there is much precedent been built on this courtesy and I'd agree, but to say it is constitutional in nature seems a stretch. SCOTUS just undermined the predictable argument that the Fed can tell a state what a marriage is, which begs your Constitutional assumption.

Article 4 Section 1 is historically interpreted to include marriage licenses. They are recognized by all other states. Divorces may revert to the issuing state, but if say, Alabama chooses not to recognize a California same sex marriage license, there WILL BE  discrimination suits. Unless the state wants to make ALL  licensed spouses remarry when they move there. They honor drivers' licenses for travellers--- and I'm not even going into interstate agreements concerning lawyers, doctors, nurses, etc. Like I said, just watch.
If you give up, THEY don't have to win.

Why don't you have to get married again if you move? Your CCW license does not affect anybody's money. Capitalism, remember?

Conservatives are getting tired of things being FORCED on us by the left.  It is ILLEGAL for gay marriage in 38 states.  California even voted by a landslide against gay marriage.  One day the pendulum will swing HARD right, and it might take a another civil war.

What would happen if all the perks afforded married people were stopped ? No more insurance deals, no more tax cuts etc. Then there would be nothing related to equal under the law involved and it would be removed from the courts . think about it. So those who are against it will you give up the benefits ?

I can only hope the 'lo-information' people will notice how irrelevant the feds have become to any resemblance of a representative government. Didn't we recently vote that down, twice?

Representative government? You mean like a democracy? You all kill me with the way your "logic" changes according to your argument. You don't want the gubmint forcing gay marriage on you--- when it really does not affect you, personally, at all, unless you're gay... is that it? Yet, you are ok with the same gubmint telling a woman what she can do with her own body. You want less gubmint spending, yet you continually support corpo-communist puppets who dump unheard-of sums of money into the military, the largest expenditure the gubmint has. You bounce back and forth between "republic" and "democracy" so much I feel like I'm watching a tennis match. OWN it! Just say YOU disagree or agree with something--- y'all obviously don't know enough about civics or history to argue from the factual perspective. You are all staring at the finger, instead of looking at the moon it is pointing to.

Condescending circular psyco-babble. 'gubmint'?   Your purposely oblique personal  comments you may feel are unassailable. This unbridled negativity is simplely incoherent.  Comic relief requires a refined sense of timing and should be restricted.  No different than shouting 'silent but deadly' in a crowded theater.

Nonetheless the list of licenses, transactions, etc. not recognized by one state of another is staggering, and I imagine it'll only get longer. Bully for the states that no longer recognize BATF for example; I'd like to see more do the same for Deps of Education & Energy, but I am a hopeless romantic.

I will take exception with the misunderstanding that it is inconsistent to be anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage. What about the voice of the unborn child; who will stand on their behalf? Do they not have "human rights" to equality? It is about a woman's body, statistically speaking the majority of aborted children are female; It is about the voice of the minorities, as the largest percentage of aborted children are african american. Where is the equality in that? If one wonders why we haven't had a black female president yet, I have to wonder if she wasn't slaughtered in a clinic.

As to gay marriage, no matter who does it with whom, God is not moved. Despite whatever SCOTUS or and Exec Order accomplishes in the future, a marriage license issued to a gay couple will not stand up in the Kingdom of Heaven. I am not one that believes we can or ought to use the government to usher in the Kingdom of Heaven, so I fully expect ere long that polygamy, bestiality, pedophilia, and any other form of "non-tradtional" relational practice will be normalized by the media, inoculating the young people through the progressive dogma of the public school, to where up is down, good is bad, and Orwell is vindicated as a prophet. In the name of tolerance, folks like me will be demonized, vilified, and fed to lions for sport on national TV, because as long as there is someone questioning the rightness of something, it harshes everyone elses mellow, and we cannot have that in our progressive dystopia. Democracy is only mob rule, and when the mob has no character, neither does the nation they form.
