Hi Hi,
I have a proposal for ya about the surplus powder.  Badnews Bob and I would like to split a jug of the H110 equivalent.   If you can come up with a 3 jug order between you so we can limit the hazmat charge to $5, I will front the cash and order the 4 jugs.  We can meet at I-75 when I come down, have lunch and split it up between you.  You two chat it out and let me know what you think.

:D Hello, Hello, liked to have missed this. Sounds like a plan to me. I would take a jug of either WC680 or WC820, and half of either. That don't sound right do it? What I mean is I'd like to have a whole jug of one of them and half a jug of the other one, or 1/2 a jug of both. Still don't sound right. Maybe ya'll can figger out what I'm trying to say. :? Bottom line, I would not ask you to put yourself out, but like I said before I'd be glad to meet you somewhere along your way just to say 'howdy.'

Another guy at work might... might.. want a jug of 110 for himself so you could get by with a 2 jug order between you (we can of course order more if you want).  I have to print out Mr. Bartlett's powder page and let him have a gander.

Heck a half a jug of WC680 and 820 would last me a while, that would be fine.  8) If that H-335 equiv. wasn't a pull-down I'd like to try it too, maybe split a jug.

Thanks for the note Haywire, my computer crashed on Saturday :(  and I have been all week getting it back up and running properly. What kind of time frame are we speaking about? I need to wait till my tax money comes back...

308, I definitely want some of the WC680, could use some of the 820 too. Wouldn't mind though having one of the slower powders like the 335 equivilent. I wouldn't be too worried about it being a pulldown, there are a number of reasons the ammo could have been rejected, even if rejection was the cause of the pulldown.

I would like to have a slower powder for my cast bullet playing. the 870 series look good too. That could be just the ticket for some slow 45-70 loadings. The 4895 is also very tempting, that could load quite a number of cases,  the 308, 30-06, 35 Whelen, 45-70. Should work nicely in a case like the 257 Roberts or the 7mm Mauser.

What are you intending to load for? I will be loading for  30-30, 357 Max, 44 Mag, 45-70 and a friends 243, though I would prefer something more like 760 for that.

Hang in there Haywire while we figure this out.....

No big rush, I'm not planning to go until I get a long weekend unless my wife convinces me to take a vacation day.  That's too long a drive for a 2 dayer.

I will be loading .357 Max., .44 mag., and .45-70. I want some WC680 and WC820 for sure and maybe the H-335 equivalent. For you looks like the BL-C equivalent is closest to the 760 you want.

So how about you and I split jugs of WC680, WC820, and WC844. I don't really need the 870 or the BL-C, and if you do it would cut your cost down by splitting those with me. Just a thought. Let me know what you think.

Hmmm, looks like we lost a post or two.  What was the final outcome again?  When Bob and I split powder we used Tupperware 2 quart containers as below.  The pour spout works like a charm.  Will this work for you guys?  I figure I'll split it up here rather than messing around with 20lbs of gun powder in the Waffle House parking lot.  They just might not appreciate it.  LOL

Those Tupperware containers should work fine IF you keep them in a dark place or put a jacket around them. Only powder I have ever had go bad on me was in a similar container that got left where sun could get to it while I took a recess from shooting of a couple of years. Other identical containers stored a few feet away, but out of sunlight are still good.

Thanks for the heads up DJ.  I've got them under the shooting bench, out of direct sunlight, but not exactly in darkness.  I think I'll probably cover the BL-C2, that is the stuff that will probably hang around the longest.

Fellers, I'm a wonderin' if you took a cheap can of something like a flat black spray paint and hit them tupperware bottles a lick of two with that it, reckin' it would help with the sunshine problem?  :?
