Mcdonalds and sheer stupidity.
« on: June 26, 2013, 12:29:24 PM »
We stopped by a mcds today. Got to the counter and there are 2 girls standing there. I told them what we wanted and they said, the power is down at the front counter, you'll have to go order through the drive through. I said what?? She repeated it. I said, the drive through is 8 ft away from you, process it there. They asked a mgr. Uhhhhh, we can't do that. I said HELLO DQ. What stupidity. POWDERMAN.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

display around to see how much change to
give from a 5.00 toward a purchase of 4.25

I love to watch these kids tell time on an analog clock! And if that clock is in Roman numerals
they get totally lost. " I think its two O something with some numbers after that".

Watched a girl in the WD pharmacy receive a 20.00, a 1 and a dime for a purchase of 16.10,  The customer wonted a  five in change. After a very long time the girl asked Me what the change was and I told her $5.00 after more dilibration she got out her phone and used the calculator and seemed pleased that the change was $5.00. Two days later I saw the same girl counting pills out in the pharmacy, after a talk with the store manager I saw her no more.

My son who is now 37 had the worst time in the world learning to tell time analog style. We tried everything we could think of and yes he finally understood but------he devised a method of doing math to unlimited places about 3rd grade by just looking at the clock face and using it as sort of an abacus.  To this day I can't understand how he does it.

On the subject of fast food, I figure anyone who patronizes the nasty things deserves whatever they get.  Haven't been able to keep any of that stuff down for a few years now.  Tastes great going down but within 30 minutes I put it right back in the sack.

Right.  McDonalds is the Wal-Mart of fast food.  They hire the cheapest, which generally means the ones who can't do anything else.  As a result you can buy .99 chicken sandwiches.

the same is taking place in construction , "systems" are now standard where little thinking is involved . Establish one point and start putting pcs. together . Thing is more times than not the pcs. are wrong , sloppy fabrication or poor print reading or drawing.

Mcdonalds must be doing something right, they are top ten in value as a company. The Mcdonalds in my area, I see mostly young people working there, with some older people also. I'm willing to bet the young people are high school kids, and the older people are mostly women who probably just want to make a little extra money, and really don't care if they are knocking down 50 to 100K a year.

Stopping at Mcdonalds once in a while isn't going to turn you into a tub of lard. Its pretty much the rest of your lifestyle that determines if you are going to be a tub of lard.

Not a big fan of fast food so don't visit many FF joints.  If forced to eat fast food I try to find a Chic- Fil-A .  They are always clean, organized and staffed with the best people.  They have recently added a couple of $7.00 salads to their menu that you would gladly pay $12 for at a fancy restaurant.

When traveling I always stop at one of the major burger shops. Know why?  Because their rest rooms are always clean, that's why. So I wash my hands, go out and order whatever and then try to see whether the cashier can do simple math by giving change with a few bills. Most of them can't. It helps on the entertainment end if you give the bill first and let them ring it up, then hand them some change to "simplify" the transaction. I can often see the wheels trying to turn in their head. Who says seniors can't have fun?
