Aparently, it's up to me to balance you out - 5 forbidden errors already this morning, and it doesn't look like it's going to slow down. :( :( :( :( :( :( (that's 6 frowning faces to balance your 6 happy faces lol).

Yeah powderman, I had a couple of good days too. But this afternoon they were back. I just turned the puter off. But I tried a bit ago again and it's ok so far.  :o you just never know when it will strike.
And I don't know enough about computers to really have a opinion.

But I'm pretty sure the Chinese are behind it all........ ;) maybe Graybeard didn't eat his quota of rice last year.  >:(

Yer prolly right I don't recall eating much rice last year. I'll try to do better in the time left this year.

I've not seen a forbidden in the last 2-3 days. I've not spoken with Matt or Tim to see what has been done but whatever it is and whichever of the two of them did it things are a lot better.

I've seen a few weird things and a few times pages were slow to load but no forbiddens or page can't be found in a few days. It's better for sure, maybe not fully fixed but a lot better.

The only thing I've done is the restart routine, I talked to Matt yesterday, said he was gonna transfer everything to another server to see if that fixes it.

I am working on it but I have got to build a new server to take to Atlanta to replace the current one then bring the current one home and try to recover the data. ( only way I know) other wise we can kiss the last 8 months of post goodbye.


Currently I have the database running on a server we host here but this is a temporary fix and may cause the sight to be slower than normal at times.  I am working on it just as hard as I can... I promise...

We have ordered a new server. It will ship out on Monday and hopefully be here on Wednesday. Matt will have to load everything onto it and then head to Atlanta to install it to replace the failing server there. For now we are operating entirely from our local servers here at Matt's house.

For now we've lost all data since last July but Matt is pretty sure that once he gets the hard drives from the Atlanta server in hand here he can restore pretty much all that data. At worst tho we've lost six months worth of posts but everything else is intact and we think those are still there and he will just need to work his magic to restore them.
