peep for turkey
« on: June 30, 2013, 11:21:55 AM »
Anybody tried using a skinner or nodak peep on a shotgun for turkey hunting?  A bead works fine but I feel like tinkering a bit.  Any suggestions?

I've got a WGRS peep on my 1908 with a Firesight up front, shoots great for patterns, hunted with it, but never got a turkey in the sights tho. My TDC has sort of a peep on it, love it!

I am afraid I have a bit of a shiner.  I patterned a couple of 3 inch and 3.5 inch shells this afternoon.  Getting my face a little higher on the stock might be a good idea!

I had a synthetic monte carlo stock on the TDC originally, even with 3" 20g turkey loads the comb made my cheek tender, I sanded it down quite a bit to make it more comfortable even with the peep, a 3" or 3½" 12ga load would have given me a shiner too!!  :o
