got a call from Senator's office yesterday
« on: January 31, 2014, 10:37:57 AM »
A while back I posted on here or the Today's News forum a news article about some illegal traffic stops by police helping someone do a federal traffic study near Houston TX and another place.

I also wrote my senators about it.  Yesterday an office staffer called to say that Sen Lisa Murkowski was looking into it and since it was a federally funded study there was going to be more investigation.  The senator shared my concern about what I call unAmerican behavior by police.  I sure was surprised.

I hope something comes of it.  We can't have cops arbitrarily stopping folks and demanding participation in a "voluntary survey".

I guess the political season is really under way.  In the last 2 days I've also gotten calls from supporters of our other senator, the democratic party (looking for my dad who died in 2005 and never lived with me) and the Tea Party Express.

Hate to think what it will be like 3 wks before the primaries.
