Good question. I haven't seen the new 41s, but if anything like the originals, I say probably not.  The Rugers are likely more accurate than 90% of shooters. If I were a serious Bullseye shooter, I'd want the 41. For every thing else, the Ruger.

I had, and shot in NRA BE, an older '80's something Mdl 41 5.5"(?)HB, it had more tens in it than my 7.5" HS (I pulled 'em father out with the HS when I pulled one....). From what Ive seen from the Rugers through the years I know a good one in the hands of a capable shooter can beat an average shooter with a 'better' piece, but that same capable shooter can do that with about anything decent. My guess is that the Ruger would provide a good training platform (if it is a good one, some arent), but eventually, if you are serious, you will end up with something 'more'. Ive had no regrets getting quality up front.

I have owned two model 41's, both 1980's guns.  One with the short 5.5 heavy barrel, one with the longer barrel (7 inch?).  Maybe 4 Ruger mark ll's, including a couple heavy barrel target guns, and a High Standard Victor.

In my opinion, the Rugers are very nice, and close to the other two brands.  Most shooters can not shoot up the Rugers potential.  That said, the S&W and HS are usually a little more accurate, with much better triggers.  In serious competition, they are the guns to beat.

A lot has to do with how the gun feels and balances in your hand as well.  You should try each if possible, and see what you like.  Aftermarket grips, barrel weights and lengths can also make a difference.  So can using a good quality, consistent target grade ammo the gun likes.

Price is another factor.  Rugers are what, about $400.00?  A clean model 41 is more like $750 or more.  A Victor, maybe $600 or so for an original CT made gun.

Right now, I own a Ruger MKll 5.5 heavy barrel with a 2x scope that is very accurate, and has accounted for a lot of small game.  I also still have the Victor, as it is so accurate, with such a great trigger.  I always shot it just a little better than I did my 41's.

Your question brings another, just what are your intentions? If you are a sport shooter who wants a good accurate autoloader you may like, but not need, the Mdl 41 at the higher cost.

I just pick up a used (mint ) 22/45 ruger with 4 mags original box and papers also upgrade fiber optic front sight for 290.00
I did shoot the gun last year in the middle of a IDPA shoot I did like the gun shot excellent but had a long trigger pull.
I did handle the Ruger Mark III a few day before and I did not like the grip.
I just got back in to N.C. a few weeks back the guy was holding the gun for me and he was not in a hurry to sell the gun:He did not like the long trigger pull.
I did compete with last week took a few string to get use to the gun ;The last string I did run the gun for 1st place.I have shot the S2W model 41 both 5: and 7: barrel great gun but a high price tag.
I was think on the upgrades to just change the sear and trigger also a new hammer bushing to get rid of the Mag: safety
