Midsouth and Midway still covered up
« on: January 31, 2014, 02:34:49 PM »
They must both be covered up with orders.  As late as 6 months ago I ordered from Midsouth and received the order in 24 hours, as miraculous as that sounds.  They're in Tennessee and I'm in southern Indiana on one of FedEx's direct daily routes between us.  With Midway being in Missouri, 6 months ago I placed an order that was delivered in 48 hours.  Fantastic on both counts!  Order from Midway last week took 7 days to get delivered and my order this week from Midsouth took 5 days.  No powder or primers on either order.  I haven't spoken to either but I'm willing to bet they are both equally covered up with orders.  Is everyone else experiencing the same?

My order placed 6/11/13 at Midsouth has not been filled yet.
Had an order in 2009 that took 5 months to fill.

I never place an order for anything that isn't in stock no matter who I'm ordering from.  If there's any doubt, a quick phone call to place the order only takes a couple minutes.

I knew the stuff I ordered was out of stock when I ordered it.
It was stuff I could wait on.
Not hurting for this backorder.
If I start hurting, Ill look somewhere else.

The current weather condition's effect on transportation in both the ship from and ship to cities have to be problematic and taken into consideration too.  A day at each at least, maybe two if icy or snow-bound in either.  What's the hurry?

I got a back order notice on large rifle primers available. Maybe things will slowly start to turn now. (I already found LRP) ear

I live relatively close to Midway, and they have been pretty well out of everything for over a year. There are some items trickling back in recently, but the dam has not broken by any means. I have backorders in on some items, several "notify me" listed. I recently posted a backorder directly with Starline for some brass as they told me they would need 50K worth of backorders to make a run, if no backorders- none will ever get made.
I have the usual paranoia about the ammo shortage, but I am also beginning to wonder about metal shortage- lead and copper ? With so many 3rd world coming up, they will need electrical products as they begin to develop infrastructure.
