I haven't followed any special posts in a long time so i don't think i will miss them.

We have ordered a new server. It will ship out on Monday and hopefully be here on Wednesday. Matt will have to load everything onto it and then head to Atlanta to install it to replace the failing server there. For now we are operating entirely from our local servers here at Matt's house.

For now we've lost all data since last July but Matt is pretty sure that once he gets the hard drives from the Atlanta server in hand here he can restore pretty much all that data. At worst tho we've lost six months worth of posts but everything else is intact and we think those are still there and he will just need to work his magic to restore them.

I did at first but new things happen every day. I will see or hr something that I am interested in and start a new thread or bring up the old one it it doesn't appear and I am still interested. ear

Yup!  I miss many of the posts which were lost, but I am sure Matt is doing all he can to restore them. Even if he can't restore them, he trying his best..how much more can we ask for ?

I know Bill & Matt are doing a great job and the best they can, guess its just all the warnings we hear all the time about identity theft & cyber theft. This brings it to reality. We all better be more careful with our personal info.

I enjoy this place as much as anybody----but----it aint a guarentee when you are dealing with a computer. Stuff happens. If this is the worse bump in your road , you are fortunate man.

Oh come on now. If one's life has become so small that internet posts seem like a big loss, it is time to expand one's horizons.

Back before the net, I would go down to the local public or school library and find information that I wondered about.

I have not been to the new public library for almost two years, that is not good.

I've been told newspapers are dying out. As well as library books. TV news is loosing its audience as well. Internet news and information is the wave of the present form of communication. Any question you might have, from where is that oil plug on your new car to what king Henry ate for breakfast is available online. It's the Information Age.

Even old dinasores like me can navigate the Internet now. First thing every morning I turn on the coffee pot and then the puter. Read the news, check my mail, do my correspondence and check my favorite sites. Yes it's important and despite some of you playing it down, I see your posts here every day too.....

That is often said but it is not true, which can be painful to those who think it is and find out the hard way.

Well Bob, I wanted to change the oil in my new mule. I looked everywhere & couldn't find it. Typed into my iPad the request for location of the drain plug, and the pictured popped right up. So you my argumentive friend are wrong again. Or maybe you don't know how to use your search engine.
