Stopped at a small gun show/flea market sponsored by a local gun club and found this set-up: Stainless Encore frame with a pro-hunter stock, 3 Custom Shop barrels in .25-20, 6.5x55, and .30-40, and two plastic forends all for $525. Barrels are all 24" matte finish. Everything is in very good to like new condition. I've been looking around for a 6.5, but always too late when I saw one advertised. The .30-40 wasn't on my wanted list, but I'll try it with cast bullets just for fun. The .25-20 is another round I hadn't considered, and must not be too common in the Encore, as I have never seen or heard of another one. It just might make a good squirrel gun with light cast lead bullets. Would like to hear from anyone who has experience with these calibers in Encore rifles.
