Freezing rain now on top of snow.

More snow now freezing rain. Several pine limbs snapped off and on the ground. Lots more dragging the ground ready to snap off. A good chance of losing power tonight, but no big deal, we always prepare for things like this. Snow started about 3 pm, already been to town. Got home and Patty said, we only have one roll of TP. Drove about 6 mi to a little country store and got some. Hwy was slick then, no doubt more so now. Youngest boy got sent home from the sawmill early and took most of an hour to drive the 18 miles. Might be an interesting night. POWDERMAN.

   Snowing here this morning. Calling for 4-6 maybe 8 inches before it is over. My driveway is a solid sheet of ice after the rain last week. Sure was fun for this old cripple walking on the ice to get to my truck to make a run to the store.

Hello powderman:  28*F  here this morning.  Normal is 53*F.  My cows keep their heads in the hay continuously.   At this rate I'll be out of hay by the  end of this month.

Man, something is up with All the servers across the nation having problems at the same time.

Power went out right after I posted the above, came back on around 1 AM. Went out again for about an hr this morning. Yard looks like a battleground. with broken limbs laying everywhere. Pine needles  limbs and ice are to the top of my first porch step. 3 limbs came through my porch roof, main house OK. Bird feeders buried under the limbs, I dug one out and hung it elsewhere. Birds were on porch looking up at the window, even had doves on the porch.
My breathing has gotten much worse last 4 or 5 days, woke up this morning wheezing pretty bad which of course means more fluid on my lungs. DRs office closed due to ice, I doubt I could get there anyway. Hopefully I can get to see him Fri. Supposed to go see Betty in the nursing home tomorrow, not sure I'll be up to it. Cancelled new lung dr apt Mon because of snow, cancelled heart dr today. POWDERMAN.

Wow, now we're even having global warming out here on the left coast.  It's 19 degrees out there early this morning and it's only supposed to get up to the low thirties today.  The good thing is that it is as clear as a bell and the sun will be up in a few minutes.  The forecast for this Saturday is that we might get up to 3" of global warming on the ground before it begins to warm up. 


Years ago before the advent of global warming, we could usually count on some very mild weather in February.  Here's hoping that we return to those good old times.

  Well, where i live, we are up to 85" of snow so far, and it's snowing right now, with more comeing this weekend.  20 miles west of here, they are up to 99", and more comeing...

  It's the cold i don't like and we've had too much of that this year too!  We do have a warm up comeing in another week and i'm looking foreward to it.

Glad your house didn't get damaged.   It's been snowing all morning.  Had to get some groceries in Poteau, OK.  The roads were excellent, but that Artic wind is a bugger.

FOURBEE. I appreciate the prayers, hoping to be able to see my family doc Friday and get some anti biotics or something to get rid of this. Been running fever too. Went to bed, finally got warm.
Our road is solid ice still. Hardly any traffic anywhere. A friend up on the main hwy said the road is still solid ice, little traffic moving very slowly.
The new DIL learned what the jugs of water were for and why we fill a couple 5 gal buckets in the tub to flush the toilet with. She now understands why we have all those oil lamps and candles, as well as stocking up on batteries for flashlites and radios. All went well. I was hoping to hearfrom other members in other states as to damage if any. POWDERMAN.

We're on storm 4 here and they're showing a couple more lined up behind it. Which means you guys east of us probably got them coming your way. I hope you get to feeling better Charlie, or at least get to make it to the doctors office for treatment soon. I'll say a little prayer for you and your household.

It's 5 deg rt now and still falling. Cleanup on the yard will be a while, everything is frozen to the ground. I felt better today, cabin fever won out over common sense and I went for a walk, it was up to 16 deg. I like to never made it back to the house, couldn't hardly breathe. Going to try to see my family dr tomorrow. I'll be fine. I slipped on the ice in the yard and fell once today going to the car to let it warm up and scrape the ice. My fault for wearing my street shoes instead of my boots. I learned my lesson. POWDERMAN.

slick sheet of ice. i'm still cleaning
up from the last ice storm after
all the limbs broke. creased the
truck metal pretty good and ruined
the electrical. had to pay and get
a new line and meter box. still
waiting on my reimbursement
from the insurance @#$*$#@
folks.     i finally got my gas
saws up and ready and ended
up pulling the 30 year old+
cord out of the recoil 
need a warm day or two to
fix that.
it's always something. . . .
