picked up an inexpensive bushnell dot sight for my mark III ruger http://www.opticsplanet.com/bushnell-first-strike-illuminated-red-dot-sight.html?gclid=CKmzs_iGtbwCFdFAMgodOi4A9w&ef_id=UpjylAAABU9Y7UYK:20140205130706:s  It came yesterday and i proceded to mount it on the gun. I couldnt get the dot to come on. Looked at the instructions and the only on off switch is the hood that goes over it. I gave up and called bushenell and talked to there service rep. Know what the first thing he asked was. Did i have it mounted with the glass to the back or two the front. I turned red instantly when i realized i had it on the gun backwards!! talk about feeling dumb!

once watched to my amusement  has TWO fellow carpenters 
mounted a skill saw blade backwards
one  holding...the other working the wrench ect...
..me just smiling waiting for them to get back to work

I do something dumb like that at least once a week. I just don't tell others. Just means you're human. Sometimes you just gotta laugh at yourself

   Since that was the first thing he asked I would venture a guess that you aren't the first one to mount it that way.   Did you say " Whoops, we must have a bad connection " and hang up?
