20 guage USH. put it on a sb1 or sb2
« on: February 07, 2014, 01:19:04 AM »
trying to figure what I should put it on. Will the larger sb1 firing pin work better for shotgun shells? I guess an sb2 would give me the option to add an additional rifle barrel later. Anyone see any issue either way.

No issues either way. They come from the factory on an SB1 but the factory will also fit them to SB2's.

I had one on an sb2 frame for a while and kept piercing primers. You might be ok with factory loads. But with my full bore slugs and i4759 powder wouldn't work. Switched it to an sb1 and everything was fine.

Actually I believe they are a different frame than a reg SB1. (From factory)

Personally nearly ANY TIME the question arrises as to what frame BUY A SB2!!!

I mean WHY gamble or limit yourself. Just seems foolish not to to me.

Anyhow if you look under the butt of a USG there is one hole. Not two like a SB2.

I had the same problem as Jason F with pierced primers on a 20ga TDC barrel that was factory fit to an SB2.  I put the barrel on an SB1 and the problem went away.  I  was shooting factory shotshells, not +P slugs.  Factory 20ga slugs are supposed to be loaded to the same  pressure specifications as shotshells so to me there is no issues with a 20ga USH barrel on a SB1 frame.
