With all the fishermen on this forum you would think somebody would have something to say.

Freshwater fishing in FL sucked.   Now that I'm in TN I will be doing a lot of fishing when it warms up.

Check out the Elk river to your east Swampy. I've never fished it as far west as you are but I believe it runs next to you. If it stays cold enough there maybe it would hold the trout as well. From Fayetville to Tim's ford Dam there are some fine browns and rainbows in the deep sections. There are even a few big muskies and smallmouths amongst them. In April there are some huge stripers getting the minnows from the branches that feed Tim's Ford Lake. You can topwater fish them then. As the summer persists they go deep and you can catch them steadily on keeper sized bluegill.

Savage, just to cold for fishing. Heck I imagine those ice fishing fellas up north even had to throw in the towel this year. The launches on the TN river stayed frozen more than not this year. There are plenty of big cats and largemouth that will bite over the winter. There just aint no gettin'  to em at 9 degrees. It was actually thawed this week but mornings in the teens with 20 mile an hour winds will make you dismiss even the fondest thought that may be lurking about fishing.

Don`t be a hater.............. Maybe Florida "fish" are smarter than those in TN.   If you can`t catch-um, oh,well. ;)

  Regardless of what Swampman says, Bass fishing in Fl ......especially at this time of year is outstanding.   I`ll admit there are some, who for what ever reason, always seem to have a problem. As in" Can`t catchem-ides." Just messin with ya...........Swampman.
 
 The only real problem we have this time of year is when cold fronts come in from the west.

  As soon as they pass, it`s "biggen' time again.   

  Sure glad I don`t have to suffer through nothern bad weather anymore................ ;D

   Is that plastic ,blow-up bass boat of your still floating?      The last one I saw (like yours) it was being crushed by a Honda ATV.   It was at the Monster-Jam in Orlando.   8)

I was never skunked until I moved to Florida.  After fishing for several years there I just gave it up as a waste of time.  TN fishing is amazing.

AH! Life outside of the gun forums.I live in Missouri and as I type this everything is still frozen over. I have had the opportunity to fish the piers in FL from Oskaloosa over to Pensacola and I loved it. I have made  a half dozen trips since 2000, last in spring 2 years ago. I am hoping to go see my daughter whom has moved to Savannah last year and see how the fishing is there. I just retired last week so will not have so much money :( but lots more time ;D , and intend to get back to FL in the fall if I can. I have been looking around for some fishermen here but they are not as up as the gun guys. I just got new Cabelas and Bass Pro saltwater catalogs and have been checking out the cheap seats ::) for new surf fishing stuff. I own property that has a couple hundred yards of river frontage on a trophy trout area, but it is a "fly" only stretch and populated by the LL Bean crowd from St Louis. They ooh and aaah over their little rainbows ( there is a 15" fish & 2 fish limit) and let them go, which does not thrill me a lot. I tend to go with whatever bait, jerk out 2 fish which go directly into tinfoil with butter and onions & lemon pepper seasoning and onto the grill for my wife.
       My last trip to FL was to Panama City in April 2012. Caught lots of Redfish, Black Drum, Spanish Mackerel ,and Shark. All were delicious. Most of the Reds were over slot size but that was good. I am sorry, but there is no way a 10" Trout stacks up against a 36" Redfish.
      The other thing fun about ocean fishing for me is you never know WHAT will be at the end of the line- a 2 pound blue or 5 foot shark.

Sounds like your more of a salt water guy. To bad.  I`m a Bass only guy.     Have bass boat will travel.
    Well,a short distance anyway.

  You get down my way. Orlando area that is  and have some gas money (funny thing about Bass boats.They don`t run with out it.)  Anyway, let me know. If the timing is good, maybe we can get together for some time on the St John`s river.   :)

I live about an hour from Lake of the Ozarks and Pomme de Terre, and from the Missouri River. My property is next to Meramec Springs State Trout Hatchery/Park, and I fish there some. I don't care to eat bass, and I don't have a boat other than a 14 ft Jon and trolling motor so I stay on small water or bank fish. I like to eat catfish so I do go to the river to fish for cats occasionally. I had a friend who had a bass boat, so I know they eat the gas :o My wife loves the beach so I started fishing on the piers as I don't care to just sit and read, and I got hooked more than the fish did. I brought a little yard cart from home with a rig I made of PVC pipe that holds umbrella and rods, bait and cooler. I can spend all day there while she sits and reads within sight. She has artificial knee and hip and arthritis and does not get around well. Hopefully the fishing near Savannah will be good.

Went fishing yesterday.We were on the lake at dawn after a 1 1/2 hour trip.
First two hours were great with my lovely fishing partner and I both catching 4 bass each and both losing 4 more at the boat.
Fished the rest of the day with no bites. :cry:
Both of our big fish weighed 2.75 lbs. so we tied for the day.

Water temp in this power plant lake was 70 degrees in the main lake and 82 at the hot water discharge.Day started a little chilly but hit 80 degrees later.
  What a great day to be on the water! :D
Please pardon the terrible phone pictures.   :oops::oops:  Not the biggest bass in the world but we're shoveling sunshine here instead of snow. ;D

That first pic looks like the "club house" at the trailer park. Must be a lousy neighborhood as you have a cannon at the front door.  :o

 Nice looking tree. Is that the same one someone reported stolen from the local memorial garden? 

Your "fake"bass-boat.  Enough said on that subject....................

I see your better half is still kicking your behind! 

In your top pic of that "dink."  if it wasn`t for floaters...........   you`d come home empty handed most of the time.  I`m thinking it`s really a cat-fish with the whiskers cut off.
   In fact ,that`s the same old pic of you and your dink that`s been posted many time before. Shame-ful.

   I can tell by the look on your face your thinking," I hope savage doesn`t notice."   ;D  Remember the "gun-room scam!"   ::)

   Plus,I noticed  a rod tip. A spinner no doubt!   Oh,well. Stick with what you can master......

As usual,  you are all talk and no action.  We are still waiting for your fishing report from when you went to the "Sticks" two years ago.
I'm beginning to think you are an arm chair fisherman.  You live your life sitting in a chair dreaming about my fishing trips.
Since you have been posting here, this is the only fish you posted a picture of a while back.  You sure were proud of this beast!

  You know darn well Florida has hogs! The dink in your photo........... No,the better question is,how long did you battle that thing? I`ll bet that pink Zebco (your favorite) was really put to the test. By the way, are  You still using 50 lb braided line on it ?  :o

  One question . Has that fake bass boat of yours ever broke the 35 mph barrier?   ;D ;D ;D

  Oh,one more .  Do you still have to hide it so the bank won`t repo it.    Maybe you can bring it to the Orlando Monster jam fest  where it can be the featured "JUNKER!"

    But, as usual, you`ve got the pic wrong. That is you. That was the pic  Wal-Mart security took of you
       before you were arrested for poaching under sized carp. You seem to have a problem with that. Just look at the pic of that under sized Bass you so proudly are showing off. Proves my point!
     
     Plus, I know that`s you because your still wearing those "Good Will" shorts.  I guess your favorite hooded sweat shirt is on loan to the security guard at the trailer park or you`d be wearing that as well.

  One other question. Is that the trailer park tour boat you were telling me about. The one were new owners get a tour of the retention pond behind the laundry room? What happened to the top?
