No  wonder  postage  stamps  just  had  a  increase. Looks  like  my  last  box  of  .22s  is  gonna  have  to  last  me  awhile.

What is this coming down too? It looks like the average person who is trying to protect himself will have to resume to the old method of rock throwing and molotov coctails.

The subject line is untrue. Show me where the Post Office itself is buying 2 billion rounds. The 2 billion number comes from some sources that say that is the amount counting ALL FEDERAL AGENCIES. No where can I even find a number of rounds established for the post office proposal. Sounds like a twist that Fox News would pull. The post office has around 1,600 armed postal inspectors so they need some ammo anyway.

OK, 2 BILLION rounds is still a lot, even for all gov. agencies.

The U.S. Postal Service has only asked Contractors to register as potential suppliers. No where does the link state the Post Office is ordering 2 billion rounds or where the Post Office has announced this so-called "Giant Ammo Purchase". Just more of the little boy crying "WOLF!'
"where'd you get the gun....son?"

Not sure about 2 billion rounds but the Post Office is certainly buying ammo.

We should find it very intriguing when a stridently anti 2nd amendment prez & administration is ordering so much ammunition..  Especially now that he stated in the state-of-the-union speech, sentiments that sounds as if he intends to act as a dictator.

Imagine the weather people ordering bulk ammo:  http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/capital-weather-gang/post/national-weather-service-ammunition-solicitation-triggers-confusion/2012/08/14/3dc6b67e-e62a-11e1-936a-b801f1abab19_blog.html

Even the Social Security Admin jumps in on the show!  http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2012/08/15/ready-why-did-the-national-weather-service-request-46000-rounds-of-ammo/

Even the Department of Education gets in on the act, buying guns from Remington, Glock etc..  Aren't schools "gun free" zones ?   https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity&mode=form&id=cb68cf9f3fa2fe18a83d1c3dee0039b2&tab=core&_cview=0https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity&mode=form&id=cb68cf9f3fa2fe18a83d1c3dee0039b2&tab=core&_cview=0

Wait a minute... How they gonna get it? Can't ship ammo via USPS!  ;D

The govt sees us hording ammo, so they figure they better too?

I'm not all that concerned about NOAA and their 46K rounds. They do have a law enforcement arm, and they do have to practice shooting just like any other cops.

Fun fact - If you attempt to sell whale oil (even if it's a bottle of antique stuff) the weather cops from NOAA are the ones who may be knocking on your door...

NOAA has 2 ships stationed on the Miss Gulf coast. They have more antennas than a porkypine has quills. That is what you can see above water. They are equipped with all sonars and side scan radars for underwater also. ear

More quixotic still, is the Dept of Education ordering Glocks and Remington shotguns...what with schools being "gun free" zones.  ;) ;D ;D
