It's never been a factory offering.  The only way to get one is a stub or re-bore.  Both will cost between $200 and $450 or so, depending on your path.  There's lots of data on things like this in the FAQ up in the sticky's on this forum.  ;)

Here's a shortcut.  Once in, just hit the Ctrl-F keys and type what you are looking for in the search box.  8)

Well, here's a couple stubbing threads.  Will give you an idea anyway.  8)  I believe MSPRet has a .45 acp stubbed barrel and some others may chime in also.  8)

I'd like to get some thought on a .45ACP insert in a shotgun barrel. I understand that some of them are rifled.

Here you go scattershot:

These adapters aren't cheap, but they are rifled and pretty well made.  He's got a good amount of variety and has .45 colt, 9mm and others also.  8)

I'm working on a .45ACP barrel this spring, I had a lot of work done on it going into winter but I do not have a heated shop and its been too cold to be out there.  I had a thread started with my build but it seems gone now. I'll try and remember to post pics and such as I also have a blog. Its just hard for me sometimes to wipe my hands clean and pick up the camera.

I do have one. Hand made. 12g stub. 12g barrel cut off just in front of the for arm stud. Green mountain barrel blank. 33.00.  blank turned on a lath to fit like an insert. Ejector from a 3030. Milling machine used to cut the slot. Drilled and tapped with 5 holes extra deep. Press fitted then scope rail mounted. Chamber reamer purchased, sold, and donated to Gbo. Whay cool. Killed a deer this year 100y plus. Machine work was free to me at deer camp. Total cost about 125.00. I love it.

There are a few 45ACP Handis here, I know Andy has one and I think BB has one or three, see the sticky if anyone wants to rent the GBO 45ACP reamer.

My 45ACP was made by turning down a GM barrel blank to fit inside a 20ga  Pardner barrel.  This is a permanent installation, not a removeable barrel insert.  The barrel was net cut and recrowned at about 18.5" and has a working ejector.  D/T for rail and wears a 1x3 Weaver scope.  The gun's builder harvested a  antelope with this gun using Texax Ammo Co. 45 Super, 200g XTPs with a chronied MV of 1,500 fps.   Gun is currently feed a diet of 200g LSWCs at about 800 fps.

This guy will build an 18 inch adapter for $150. That got me thinking. It would be cool to have a full-length, removable insert that could be "locked" into the barrel. My idea was to cut the shotgun barrel down to 18and1/4ish and machine down and thread the end of the insert. This would allow a tapered muzzle brake to be attached to the end of the insert and tightened until it is snug in the muzzle of the outer barrel. This would allow for a semi-permanent barrel attachment that cam be removed at the end of deer hunting season so that the shotgun barrel can be used on small game until spring.

That is incredibly similar to the idea I had.  In my mind, I did away with the shotgun barrel except for a stub and threaded near the chamber end of the barrel for a locking nut.  One of the problems of mine was that I could never decide whether making a 12 gauge barrel stub would technically be owning a SBS if it is not permanently attached to a barrel of proper length.
What I have: 30-06 Handi (2003), 12ga mod. bbl
What I want: .22lr offset (versa-pack) bbl, 357 Max bbl
