Why not just fix it yourself. Three screws a little 80, 400 and 600 grit sand paper and a $1.00 Papermate Flexgrip Ultra Pen spring is all you need.

Remove the current trigger spring and replace it with the papermate spring (same diameter and length). Before installing the new spring lightly polish the inside of the two posts that hold the trigger to remove machinging marks and burs and then lightly polish both sides of the trigger to remove the machine marks. It doesn't take much polishing.

Or for $80.00 you can buy a Riflebasix replacement.

I recently installed a basix trigger on my 17vs. It is highly recommended and makes the 17vs into a fine small varmit rifle.

joe, i did the ink pen spring trick and it works great! thanks alot for the tip.plan on doin it to all my bolt action marlins now...

A cheap improvement is the Pentel pen spring swap. It will take you down to around three pounds.
I recommend the Rifle Basix trigger. A little pricey but nice.
