I would say so I've used .410 on them before. It will help your shoulder on long hunts.

I've used a 20 with no problems, but prefer a 12 gauge on doves. The little critters are hard to hit, so I need all the help I can get.
My first time out dove hunting I was 3 for 3....... 3 birds and 3 boxes of shells!!

20 ga is great on dove.  If you have an adjustable choke all the better.  I end up using my Imp Cyl choke more than anything early in the season and switch to Mod later when the birds are more shy.

20ga. is fine! I have been using my Ithaca M37 for over 30 years on them....with 1oz. loads....never had a problem.

My Pa has killed a couple of truck loads (tractor trailer) with his 20.  He usually outshoots us boys by a bunch.  And then some.  We use 12s.
