Rem mod 11 buffer

  Does anyone know what will happen to the reciever buffer in a mod 11 Rem shotgun in a hot salt bath?
  Another question: Does anyone know where I can send the carrier for nickel plating?

No, I don't know what would happen to it, but I can't imagine it would be much good afterwards.  Unless it's already been replaced most of them need a new buffer anyways so I'd probably just plan on changing it.

That's as good an answer as I've heard. The buffer is definitely needed and if re-working a M11 a new buffer should be a necessity anyway. Brownell's website has lists of providers..
