Like to see reference to the "surveys" you are referring to.

I took it to mean, if you have served your sentence and paid your debt to society, then all of your rights should be restored, because you are at "square 1"

Personally I think all Felons while incarcerated should lose privileges, with them being restored after time served. "Debt to society paid" Be they Republicans, Democrats, Independents or what ever their political affiliations.

Again, lets see the statistics

Plus, just guessing I would conclude that nearly 100% of all criminals don't care one way or the other about voting

Eric Holder wants felons to vote

So? If a man has served his time, give him his rights back - voting, and 2nd Amendment.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

He lost those as part of his punishment.

Nothing in the US Constitution has anything to say about felons losing their rights. These laws have come about thru the individual states..So if changes are made its going to be up to the individual states to make the changes.

It must be deemed constitutional for states to take away rights, as the laws are considered constitutional.

That is a good point . Here many felons get their rights back. Sometimes it includes gun rights other times it does not. Maybe a lawyer will explain , they get their rights but are still felons. One I know has to carry a paper stating he can buy a gun. But he marks the form as a felon.

So often we hear folks say.."since the felon has paid his debt"..
If for instance it were a crime like theft or fraud and the felon has gotten forgiveness, done his time , and paid everything back which he cost the victim and the state..perhaps..

However; if that crime was rape, murder, molesting children, hook someone on dope, or intentionally cause serious and permanent injury to another.. the felon may serve time, but there is no way on God's green earth he can "pay his debt"!!
How in the world can one "un-rape" a woman or child ?  How can he bring back a life once taken?  How can he restore the physical and mental health  of somebody destroyed by dope/ and how can he make a parapalegic or Quadrapalegic to walk and function at 100% again?

I can say I guess you were correct, but sure took you long enough to find something.  You're supposed to start with a fact when making a statement, rather than making a "factual" statement first, then digging trying to find something to back it up.

But as always you must consider the source of your facts and their motives.

On February 1, 2005  a free daily tabloid arrived on newsstands and in mailboxes in the Washington, DC area: the Washington Examiner. The new paper is owned by Denver billionaire Philip F. Anschutz, an Evangelical Presbyterian who has bankrolled numerous ultra-conservative causes .

Does that mean Holder is wanting to restore their right to bear arms again?

Frankly, I long have supported my statements with links etc.  However, when I did post links A) They were usually disregarded B) I was chided for adding unnecessary linkage..  I'll give you credit though, you did accept the link.

But as always you must consider the source of your facts and their motives.

Yes we should consider the source.  For instance the Daily Kos , Huff Post, The NY Times, MSNBC, and The Washington Post are run/sponsored by the far Left, does that mean everything they say is untrue?  ..And yes, the first two plus MSNBC, are essentially free to the reader/viewer.
