What are your thoughts on a Ruger GP100 6" in 357mag ss I thinking about got one and was wondering what you all thought about the pistol . Good , bad too heavy, crapola for a trigger

I have one in 6" sst GP-100.  It was heavy hammer and trigger when I got it new.  After the first 50 rounds of ammo through it, I took it to may favorite gun smith and he did a trigger job and hammer spring.  It is so sweet that if you close your eyes and dry fire it double action it feels like if you are shooting a Python revolver.  In single action is great and it breaks the trigger at the same feel as the S&W 686.
The revolver (bought in the 1990's) is capable of tight groups to many different loads of different bullets, primers, and powders.  This revolver is definitely strong!
Now, I am not sure about the latest batch of GP-100's I have read in this or in another forum that Ruger GP-100's are not as good as they used to make (accuracy wise I guess). But I have not bought one lately so someone else that has would have newer information on them.  My GP-100 has the grip that is rubber with a wood side plate.  See attached picture. (I tried to attach pic but it did not work)

I also have the 6" SS version, and love it.  Very accurate, and good smooth action.  I'm planning on getting the 4" version one if I can find one I can afford.

I also had the GP-100 4" version along with the 6" and one day I traded in for a S&W M60-15.  I love the M60-15 but I do miss the GP-100 too.  I am determined to never get rid of the 6" as it is an excellent gun.

I have an older 4" and two weeks ago I got a new 5".  Both guns are fabulous with great triggers, both are amazingly accurate with the 4" getting the edge.  I've not done any load development on the 5" yet but I have high expectations for it from what I've seen so far.  In my mind, the GP-100 is the go to .357 on the market today.

I just picked up a 3" barreled fixed sight GP100 for $300 like new in the box and couldn't believe I was the first to respond to their ad. I've had a few in the past in 4" and 6" versions  and they all shot great.
I'll be keeping this one unless someone wants to trade me a 4" adj. sight version for it but I don't see that happening. I've never seen one wore out before.
