Unless you are shooting the factory ammo that's listed on the chart those numbers don't mean a thing.
Geeeeze! Burst my bubble why don't ya...
I guess I'm back to my meaningless and statistically insignificant 'speriment!
Lessee here...
1) Start with developing my best hunting load in 44 Mag and 445 and my best plinking load in 44 Spl. in the 22" barrel; record accuracy and velocity.
2) cut .5 inch from barrel length, reshoot same loads and record velocity and accuracy.
3) repeat #2 above until barrel length reaches 16.5 inches.
4) report findings as definitive answer to question at hand!
Yup! Got y'all covered now!
Wait!
I just cut up my pistol barrel in half inch chunks!
And what if it shoots better at 18" then 16.5!?
This forum sure complicates my life...
Well, not really now that I think on it...
I don't have a 44 Mag barrel to make into a 445 Mag anyway! And I do have a 4" chunk of 45-70 barrel from some other project!
Guess y'all are just gonna haveta wait a bit!
