Octagon Barrel Question
« on: February 17, 2014, 06:22:32 AM »
Evening Handi Gents,

Im back again with what will probably amount to another newbie question. Was there ever a factory octagon .30-30 barrel offered?  If not what is the procedure to make one?  Could a guy buy a heavy barrel and mill it?  Maybe Im into stub territory but I hope not. I just want to do something a little different with my now decided upon .30-40 project.

Thank You

Clambo

No factory oct., and you can mill it; std. procedure in a set of v-blocks jacked for the taper.

See the octagon barrel link in the FAQs sticky, I've done two, a straight taper 444 barrel and tapered 405 Win barrel.
