Older Topper "Buck" 12 ga Model 162........Slug gun
Has a clip on forearm, not a screw......?
Was reading thru FAQ and found a statement saying the all H&R/NEF forearms will fit most anything.......
That's not really true in all cases..... as the ML .50cal. has it's own....20 ga rifled bull has it's own....just a couple of examples......
So anyway...Ideas on a fix?....as the clip allows the forearm to pull when fired with a heavy slug load.

Give me a link to that, it's not true, ALL butt stocks will fit ALL modern H&R firearms, most forends except some shotgun forends will fit all modern firearms as well, as for the Huntsman, a regular forend will fit fine, it just won't work for a ramrod. The M162 isn't a modern H&R, it was made 1968-86 by H&R Inc who went out of business in 1986, the snap-on forends were discontinued sometime in the 70s, best option is check Numrich for parts, sometimes they have them in stock. If you mean how to tighten it up, maybe a heavier spring in the latch? My 1908 12ga does the same thing with heavy turkey loads.

The forend screw on current production firearms with wood stocks and old style synthetic stocks is a ¼"-20x½" flathead machine screw, checkered synthetic forends are ¼"20x¾", both are commonly available at Ace and True Value Hardware stores, be sure check the stainless section too.

Early H&R barrels use  a ¼"-28x½" forend screw, many hardware stores don't carry the ¼"-28 but a metric screw in 6-16 flathead is a close fit and will do in a pinch.  ¼-28 and ¼-20 machine screws can be ordered from http://www.smallparts.com

The hammer extension set screw is an 8-32 socket head that takes a 5/64" or 1/16" allen wrench, depends on when the extension was made.

To remove the stock, remove the butt pad/plate, the bolt has a 9/16"(14mm) hex head, you'll need a long extension for your ratchet to reach it.

Was just wondering if any one had a threaded lug welded to the barrel.

It might be easier to just tack weld or epoxy a ¼-20 coupler to the bottom of the barrel than trying to dig up a factory stud. Ya might PM Brian to see if he can help. I've dovetailed and/or drilled and tapped for studs on the bottom of rifle barrels, but dunno if there's enough barrel wall for either on the shotgun barrel.

Was thinking about a nut JB welded on the bottom barrel.....most likely it would hold.
It would just help hold along with the clip....that actually hold pretty good.
Bernanke 1 oz slugs will sometimes lift the barrel off when fired.
Not a "stop sign gun"......only use it when you have to.
