•   Jennifer Forshey is accused of forcing a 10-year-old student to clean up a urine-filled, clogged urinal with his bare hands.

  A Florida elementary school teacher was arrested Wednesday after police say she forced a 10-year-old student to clean a clogged urinal at the school with his bare hands, WSVN.com reported.
Police say Jennifer Forshey, a teacher at Broward Community Charter School West in Coral Springs, forced the student in early February to clean the urinal as a form of punishment for clogging it, the report said. After the incident, police say the boy’s hands were "saturated in what smelled like urine." The school reportedly learned about the alleged incident when the boy went to an office in the school looking for soap.
 
The boy, who was not identified, told WSVN he felt embarrassed and now classmates tease him. The boy’s mother called the matter "irresponsible" and the family has since hired an attorney, the report said.
"I just think it's something no kid should go through. And I wouldn't want him to ever go through anything like that again," Jenay Roberts, the boy’s mom, said.  The school did not comment on the issue.
Forshey, who was released from jail after posting bond, faces a charge of battery of a child by exposure to urine.

40 some yrs ago we had a teacher that used to throw school books at kids. (Immid school/parent meeting), with the teacher in question attending. Within 10 mins. one of the parents of one of the kids hit by a book went out his truck and returned with a rope. Meeting went to he77 real fast, teacher locked herself in a closet. Cops called and a call went out for back-up. Teacher was escourted to her car, and never seen again. She had gotten her teaching  pappers from "bezerkly". Parents were told by the cops to go home.. Several months latter the old oak tree behind the school got removed. At this time this was a logging, some mining, cattle area.

  This post brought back an old story my grandfather told me. He was born in 1904 and was teaching school in a one room schoolhouse in far upstate N.Y, by the mid 20's.  Somewhere during this time period, he would arrive every morning at a given time to unlock the door, and let the kids in for their daily lessons. This particular morning he grabbed ahold of the doorknob, and realized someone had smeared poop (from the outhouse) on it. He said the group of students gathered around all burst into laughter at him. He never said how he figured out who the guilty party was, but he grabbed ahold of the brass schoolbell and knocked the boy out cold with it. I have the offending schoolbell, it weighs an easy pound coupled with its oak handle. It would REALLY hurt... Grandpa went on to teach (and continued to beat up students), all the way till he was fired for it in the 1960's.
  Sorry for the offtopic post but i figured it would at least give contrast...sounds like times are still changing.

My 7th&8th Grade teacher used to throw his keyring at kids that werent paying attention!!
I left Germany in 1957 up to that time and probably years past, it would be a rare day if someone didn't get beat up.

I say he was very lucky that someone didn't offer him an early retirement a lot sooner. It sounds like you think of him beating up kids was the way to teach them a lesson. If he were 12 and the other one was 12 I might agree, but an adult that beats up a kid at at any time in history should be branded with a hot iron and fired and jailed.
