1981 I averaged 50.00 on green coon. After the stock market crash in the late 80s,if you were lucky to find a buyer--coon were in the 2 dollar range.
Put up beaver less than 5 bucks in the early 90s.About 8 or 10 years ago,990 rats at a $2.35 average.
I am surprised rats have held up as well as they have.
Lee I doubt you and I will live long enough,to see another fur boom.I figure we have seen two of them.

All of my fur was on this last weeks Feb sale and I'm not real surprised by what I got. I've been shipping pretty much everything for quit a few years now. While I agree last year was great I think it might just have been a fluk, couldn't see it lasting. This last sale my averages where about half that of 2013 prices. That said they are not so different than 2012 2011 and so on. So while the prices I got were not the 2013 new boom. They were still better than the mid 1990s where my averages where half again of what the 2000 period was. Sure would be nice to have the 2013 prices for a few years. But I don't need the glutt of 2013 trappers out there either. I'll just keep doing what I do and when I don't enjoy it anymore go do something else.

Rats were good at $13 average. Coons were not. Last year $44.81 this year $18 with 10 percent buy backs!! I knew it would drop but 60% was more than I thought. My average for 156 coons for the two years is still about $32 so that is not so bad. I sold 6 of my average coons at our local sale for $21. I should have sold more if not all of them.
I did sell 9 rats and got 9 so I lost $4 each doing that.
