Changing triggers on a Ruger Super Blackhawk
« on: February 25, 2004, 09:07:01 AM »
I have a Ruger Super Blackhawk. The trigger pull on this gun is a little creepy and heavy. I know I can install a spring kit to help the wieght of pull. What can I do about the trigger creep?

One more thing, this trigger is grooved. I would like to ungroove it or replace it. Any thoughts?

The creep can be changed by stoning the sear engagement on the hammer.  Take off too much, and you wont need the trigger.   You could silver solder the grooves on the trigger, but why.  Get used to using them.
You can lighten the trigger spring by removing one leg of the trigger spring from it's perch under the grips.  You can also polish the surfaces of the sear and engagement and use a good teflon grease to make the trigger feel lighter.

Good luck with your project.
