The sportster that I have squirrel hunted with, the last two yrs., had a very clean/crisp trigger, but it was 5 1/2 lbs. At the suggestion of my gunsmith, I bought an aerosol can of liquid graphite, and completely soaked the trigger area. After it dried, I followed a suggestion in the FAQs section on handi rifles. I put a snap cap in and fired the gun 15-20 times. Then, I cocked the hammer, and while holding it back, I squeezed the trigger hard for a few seconds, then let the hammer down. I did this 15-20 times. I took it back to my smith and had the trigger checked again. It went from 5 1/2 lbs., down to a very clean 2 1/2 lbs! To say I was a happy camper, is an understatement!
