I too never knew this till I heard it in a movie (Meet the Fockers?)

i didn't know it either till my brother in law who was a 60s guy (I was a 70s) told me. It was a hippy song not a kids song like so many thought. It was even played in elementary schools.

I think you guys must be smoking that stuff. The song is just about a child's imaginary friend a dragon. Look at the lyrics and all the symbolism associated with it in all videos of it. Ain't about doing drugs.

I've been listening to it since it was first put out and have never heard it associated with drugs in anyway until this.

just passing on what the brother in law told me. Like I said I remember teachers playing it in school. Do a search and youll find im not the first one that's heard this. What allways made me question this is it was said the peter paul and mary were actually anti drug when it wasn't cool to be anti drug.

I Googled it too. Maybe those 60's hippies were trippin and thought there was a secret message in the song. . Its ok Bill, I'm sure no one thinks you like pot smoking songs.

This was the first time I had ever heard that. It was a children's song, even played on TV shows.
