I always liked the Bangles, they had a cool 60's vibe to them.

Here's a good all girl band that nobody has ever heard of. They got their name from George Harrison who suggested it as a joke but the record company went with it because one of the Beatles came up with it.

Oh, I thought you were talking about the Runaways. Fanny was American but yes they were signed to a UK label.
