dont you just hate when this happens
« on: May 27, 2020, 10:48:30 PM »
was going to crank out some 06 ammo for one of my guns and saw I was low on the bullet I use in it. The Hornady 150 btsp interlock. Went to order some and there out of stock everywhere. Seems Hornady has discontinued that bullet. Sucks cause it was the hands down best bullet in that gun and the best ive found for my ar10 so far too.

Looks like I've lost one of my
Hornady bullets too. Oh well .  .  .
It's just irreplaceable time and money
spent working up a load. I've been done
that way with powders being discontinued
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

I'll just have to spend time and money
I don't really have to spare checking
around at the scarce gun shops looking
for what I need. It's usually not worth it
around here to try and call ahead like
it used to be
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

I thought I had lost the Speer Grand Slam bullet I used in my .270 a few years ago, so bought a few when I found some old stock.  But they are available again apparently, so it was either returned to production or maybe just a victim of the hoarding epidemic at that time.  So maybe yours will come back too or you will come across some for sale later as I did.

Gran Slams have changed internally over the years, so who knows which ones you have or had?

It just pays a guy to buck up and buy enough. Maybe even blow of a gun or two to buy loading components. I found that out too with surplus powder. I had great loads with pr200. Then it dried up and I had 4 kegs of it and thought I was set. That ran out last year. Now they have a new version. Or at least are calling it something else. I bought 6 kegs and it does look and act the same but I really haven't tested it side by side with 200 or aa2 (which I think they both basically are) I don't shoot as much as I used to so I hope it will last but maybe a guy is better with 6 kegs left on the shelf when he croaks then he is running out. Ive got about 30lbs of wc820 right now too  but found it works good in the 300 bo so im eating way at it. I should probably order more of it too. Then primers over the last few years have been hit and miss. Ive always managed to keep enough to shoot but got nervous a few times. I need to prioritize. I still keep buying guns I don't need like more black pistols and ar15s when I have a pile of them already. I keep saying only a couple more that are on my wish list but that list seems to get additions everytime one is checked off.
