President Trump said Wednesday that he has a “very good relationship” with Dr. Anthony Fauci, just hours after White House trade adviser Peter Navarro published a blistering op-ed criticizing the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for his projections on the coronavirus pandemic.

“I get along very well with Dr. Fauci,” Trump told reporters Wednesday in the Oval Office. “I have a very good relationship with Dr. Fauci.”

His comments came after Navarro tore into Fauci in a stunning op-ed published by USA Today.

“Dr. Anthony Fauci has a good bedside manner with the public, but he has been wrong about everything I have interacted with him on,” Navarro wrote.

Navarro began by saying that Fauci “fought against” Trump’s “courageous decision” in late January to suspend flights from China as the novel coronavirus began to spread, arguing that that decision “might well have saved hundreds of thousands of American lives.”

He continued: “When I warned in late January in a memo of a possibly deadly pandemic, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases was telling our news media not to worry.”

Further, he wrote that in February, “Fauci was telling the public the China virus was low risk.” Navarro went on to complain Fauci was “flip-flopping on the use of masks.”

He dinged Fauci for downplaying falling mortality rates, amid the debate over whether businesses should be allowed to reopen or stay shuttered. Navarro added: “So when you ask me whether I listen to Dr. Fauci’s advice my answer is: only with skepticism and caution.”

Navarro’s comments come as tensions have been bubbling between the White House and Fauci. Officials have reportedly been concerned about the number of times Fauci has “been wrong on things,” according to a report last week.

A senior administration official, though, told Fox News that Navarro’s op-ed slamming Fauci was “definitely not approved by the White House.”

Another White House official told Fox News that Navarro is “going rogue.”

Alyssa Farah, White House director of strategic communications, said on Twitter that the piece “didn’t go through normal White House clearance processes and is the opinion of Peter alone.”

She said Trump “values the expertise of the medical professionals advising his Administration.”

Trump “values the expertise of the medical professionals advising his Administration.”
Who are the medical professionals advising the President? We are out of the WHO. We have disconnected from the CDC and, evidently, he does not listen to Fauci for whatever reason.
Who is giving the advice?

He doesn't listen to Fauci because Fauci is a card carrying liberal who has been wrong on this virus crap 100% of the time.

His so called "computer models" didn't miss by thousands,  they missed by millions.

If Fauci had known what he was talking about, we'd be digging mass graves with bulldozers.

Dee: All that may be true. That is why I asked the question about who is giving the advice. As yet unanswered.

I'm sure there are a myriad of doctors, and scientists involved in an advisory capacity, with,  and without a liberal agenda.

Millions of dollars are being made off this charade, and mail in voting is the biggest goal for the Democratic party.
That type of voting method will ensure a Biden victory.

llions of dollars are being made off this charade

The money comment, while probably correct, moves the focus away from the real issue. Comments about conspiracy engendered by those nasty commie pinko democrat liberal swine deflect the focus away from the health issue.

You still think that this pandemic thing is a hoax. Is that correct?
I understand that you believe that the mass media is not to be trusted. Is it possible that all the recent reports are a lie, that all the elected officials in CA, Texas, FL, OR, Mississippi, Utah, Arizona who are reacting to recent increases in infections are being duped. I wonder who are the medical pros are who are giving them advice. Who is giving you advice? It is easy to ignore the fact that Covid19 has spread to every nation in Europe. That many European countries are not allowing US citizens to enter. Is none of that true?  There are outbreaks across the Middle East and Africa....the pandemic is spreading in India. Is all of that a lie?Could it be that ALL of those reports are wrong, that ALL the people involved are being duped - except for the few bright and informed individuals here on GBO?I know that when I see bodies being rolled on gurneys down the sidewalk to be loaded on refrigerated morgue trucks....that something is dreadfully wrong. And so we want to send our children back to school in September. No problem....it is all a charade. It is a hoax. Not to worry, the kids will be ok. Yep.

Padding the numbers is getting caught constantly. Its 4 months before the most important election of our lifetime.
Covid 19 will kill us all if we are foolish enough to leave the house to vote.

We need mail in Ballots. With them, we'll be safe, and we can steal the election.
