I really do not understand the mindset of the “reparationists”. I would like to read through a formal statement of the rationale behind the idea that giving reparations for slavery one hundred and fifty eight years after emancipation  to people who have never been slaves makes sense.
Is there such a formal statement?

The commission shall examine slavery and discrimination in the colonies and the United States from 1619 to the present and recommend appropriate remedies. Among other requirements, the commission shall identify (1) the role of federal and state governments in supporting the institution of slavery, (2) forms of discrimination in the public and private sectors against freed slaves and their descendants, and (3) lingering negative effects of slavery on living African-Americans and society.”
Doesn’t answer every question that I have....or any question.

Not a situation restricted to black folks. Around the corner from my home In Brooklyn, NY is a small rent controlled Apartment building wherein lives three generations of a family none of whom have ever worked. Cigarettes, yes. Cellphones, yes. Jobs...no.

And they trashed them out within 5-10 years to the point they were no longer livable.
Wouldn't they have to prove that they are the decedents of slaves, and not just because of their
skin colour?

Section 8 people here being black.
I'm fully aware there are plenty of space
wasting whites as well. We call them white
trash because there's not another name as
appropriate as that.
