Texans still aren't letting Mexicans tell them what to do.
« on: July 19, 2020, 02:33:14 PM »
New Mexicans, that is. Little Hitler, our governor, has decreed that any Texans coming into the state must self quarantine for 14 days before being out and about. I just spent a few days in Ruidoso for a family reunion and the place was crawling with Texas license plates. Coming home this morning heading toward Texas I was passed by a large number of vehicles because I was driving the speed limit and Texans pay little attention to that while here also.  ;D I would guess that 85% of the passers were wearing Texas plates. About 75% of the vehicles I met had Texas plates also. After I turned south at Tatum I saw not one Texas plate.

If we go to Texas we must self quarantine for 14 days after returning. Yeah, right. Hide and watch, guv.

We wouldn't be worrying about any
of this if they'd stopped everyone
that was entering the country from
overseas, and put them in quarantine
for a few weeks.
No shutdowns, no masks, no gloves,
no sanitizer, no ventilators, no nothing.
For whatever reason, we lack the nutz
to be proactive in these type of situations,
and only react when it's nearly too late
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

Wifes' family just got back from New Mexico. Didn't mention being quarantined. A niece and nephew own a big cabin in the mountains up there. Wonder if they'll quarantine?

It'd be a non-issue if they'd kept people coming
from infected areas overseas and letting them
roam freely about the country
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

There is no enforcement in this area. The local law enforcement has taken a hands off policy to all her health orders. Since there are no ordinances to support them they say it's up to to the state police to do her bidding. Texans doing business in the state are exempt, gotta keep all the oil dollars flowing that she can. The state police here says they don't have enough officers to do their regular jobs and have no way to know who is doing what. About the only thing that has happened is some cafes have had their licenses yanked because of non compliance by the state health board.
Masks are supposed to be worn anytime you set foot outside your house. There are a few doing so but most don't. I saw more in Ruidoso than here.

A lot of businesses have started not allowing you to enter ( and spend Money)if your not wearing a mask.
Is that something our fine Gov came up with? At our Walmart people are throwing that mask down in the
in the parking lot as they come out. Sorta like a protest I guess. More mask laying around in that parking lot than dirty diapers.

Still lots of dirty diapers in this area.
Every now and then a bundle of dirty
clothing where a border jumper buys
a new outfit when they get here, and
changes in the parking lot.
Lots of gloves now too.
Not as many masks in relation to
discarded gloves
