I知 thankful for Christian television
« on: July 20, 2020, 01:55:19 AM »
Especially during this time of church closures because of the pandemic. We can still worship with several churches that are still open or some that hold services with no audience.
Doris & I get ready for church just like we would if we were going to a church building. We enjoy the singing, testimonies, & preaching of several services every Sunday and Wednesday nights I even prepare our communion cup & bread to take communion along with Jimmy Swaggarts church on the first Sunday of each month.
I know several shut ins that have done the same for years because they just can稚 get to a church building any longer because of physical limitations.

I still run across the late Adrian Rogers on radio from time to time, and I do like swaggerts music, but skip his message. .

Our church has been operating for about a month now.  Services are recorded and televised on our Facebook page, as a community service, for those who are apprehensive..

I can't handle most religious broadcasts.  Most of them ask for more money than a politician during a reelection cycle.

Our church has reopened in a limited manor.  We have 2 meetings a month and a the congregation divided alphabetically.  The first half early in the month and the later half, later in the month but we're still having weekly meetings on zoom.  It's not the same but better than isolation...

Lloyd, I am a bit puzzled by your response.  You quote my statement, then you assess a judgement to our church video, provided for those who can't make it to  church, saying it must be liberal.  Calling our local church, "Liberal", would be far reach, since for sure "Biblical" would be a much better choice of words.  Especially puzzling is your posit that since we use FB, we must be liberal..while in the same statement, you admit you refuse to even view Facebook !

BTW:  You say your local church has been doing that for a few months..is it on Facebook ?

Tony...We share a video on FB..but there is no mention about donations, and none is expected. We do fine with what our congregation gives.
..And of course it is against our principle to hold lotteries, sell barbequed chicken or any other financial device.  The Bible says the members support their church.  ..And that they do willingly.
I have been a member of this local church for 23 years, and never have been treated to a sermon or message concerning money or financial support. ...Just never needed it!

no what i said was that facebook is run by liberals and i wont support it. Id rather pray alone then contribute to a liberal agenda. Bottom line is watch it and your contributing. They keep track of viewer numbers and thats how they get advertisers. Just like about any forum on the internet other then this one. So log on and some socialist is putting money in his pockets that might darned well become a donation to bidens campaign or some other socialist agenda. Free world i cant stop you but i wonder what Jesus would say about it. Church on a web site that supports abortion and homosexuality.

Thanks for the explanation Lloyd, I can see where you ate coming from.  However, we weighed the various factors. Yes, FB is fraught with liberals, but there are many people out there who are going "unchurched" so to speak.
As Pastorp pointed out, there are Christians out there who are at home on Sunday morning, because their church is closed, so such efforts by a local church would likely be very welcomed.
Our church is fortunate, in that they have a videographer in the congregation. My middle grandson is an award winning videographer, an dof course considers that job as an extra donation.
Then there are folks like Tony, who doesn't like the TV services that are badgering  viewers for money.  Ours will never do that, since we are dedicated to the great commission, and are content with how our own congregation supports that effort.

You say "pray by myself"..which is good, and I often pray in the normal course of the day, besides meals and bedtime along with a Bible reading daily.  However, there is much more to church service than prayer.  There is a message, which although facing a world of confusion, endeavors to offer an edifying message of hope.

what our church does is video record it and put it on 10 chips and pass them around between the parishioners that are interested. Everyone gets a list of who he needs to pass it on to.

Facebook?? https://www.facebook.com/beingliberal.org
https://www.facebook.com/americaisliberal/

Its no different then the misinformation that hitler fed his people. Guarantee you one thing. If satan or the anti christ are alive today they log on to facebook every day! I agree its nice to pray with others. If i didnt i wouldnt be a member of my chruch. But its realitively easy to even do it with a bunch of members of your church on your home pc or put a mask on and do the social distancing thing and go to church on sunday if you want it that badly. But FACEBOOK??? Thats like going to joining a satanic cult so you have someone to pray with. Facebook has passed on and promotes more misinformation about our president and stirs more crap then every other organization in the world. THEY ARE THE ENEMY. Please understand that everytime you log on there your supporting the exact same things you preach against on here. Want some real points with your congregation or better yet with GOD. Show your family and congregation whats wrong with using facebook and maybe switch to video conferencing. Yes your still supporting the liberals that about control the whole internet but some do need a computer in there lives today and i can understand that but NOBODY NEEDS FACEBOOK

I think it's great that people build a world wide personal profile on medias like Facebook.
That way internet predators steal THEIR personal information and money instead of mine. I like those easy volunteer/victims, it takes the focus off folks like myself.
