I canceled Netflix, and Thursday I called DirecTV and asked if they had a package with zero sports channels. The basic package does that.

We're on Dish and we don't get them anymore either. Finally got rid of CNN and replaced it with Foxnews.

I have Spectrum, and use very little beyond Fox News, although I do check the fakers on line.
  Aboutbthe only other stuff I watch on Spectrum is the live "cop shows"..but they pulled them when the left started going more nuts than usual, and started attacking law enforcement, because they wouldn't allow them to crash, kill and burn.

What's wrong with Netflix? They have some good movies and series and that is the only thing I watch with it.

My firestick allows me to choose what I watch. If I quit every TV source that has crap like that I would be limited to sitting on the patio and watching the birds for entertainment.

Yes, we do. Wouldn't have it any other way unlike some that I'll just refer to as liberals. I quit streaming music with pandora because of the blm commercials. Can't skip those like with the firestick.

I quit "pay for commercials" TV and went to the $100 (one time) air wave TV antenna 2 years ago and never looked back (save at least $120/month).  I get 100+ free channels, about half of which are religious, Spanish language, cartoons, or other that I won't watch.  I turn off every channel that I will not watch.  There remain many channels with good programming.  The biggest exceptions, I do not watch the TV news, but still have it programmed to watch just in case and for weather. 

Thanks to my liberal brother, I get Netflix at no cost to me.  He lets me plug into his paid subscription.  Apparently, a paid Netflix subscription comes with five (5) user plug ins.  I offered to pay.  He said no thanks.

I don't watch Pro sports.  They're like politicians, whiny millionaires with political agendas.  Pro sport (and betting) is ruining amateur sports (college).

"Off the air" antennas are great--- for people that have access to a lot of stations. I do not. I can get CBS and NBC without a 40' pole and rotator. Been there, done that for a lot of years and am not going to do it again. Dish it is for me because of my wife as she likes it. I piggy back Netflix off my son's account. They do give you five accounts and he won't take money either. The only news I watch is local which means around Albuquerque as they own all the tv stations. At least I get to see what Der Fuerher is doing to continue to destroy the us but hardly ever see anything that pertains to the southern part of the state.

I tried one of those super antennas.  Sadly; I am too far from the stations...and too many hills between.


  Year ago, I lived on top of a high hill in this region, about 15 miles north of where I now live.  I used a conventional antenna, and besides local stations, I received TV from Toronto, Hamilton & other spots in Canada (about 60-70 miles, direct line, much over Lake Ontario).
