I used to travel a long ways for boat races; had a great time and met great people but it is a dying sport.
Evinrude no longer makes boat motors period and Mercury has stopped production of two-stroke racing motors.
Even the big so called Unlimited hydroplanes are damn close to  spec. series; not the run what you brung from the eighties, and nearly died out.

I would love to go watch one of those. Id rather do that than NASCAR.


Good thread Bob. I watched an airplane pilon race once, those aircraft were just about all engine. Didn't see
a boat one that had BLM on it. Mercury does now offer a four stroke V8 engine.
