New catch phrase?

I've been watching the news for a couple days and the msm keeps calling the AR the 17 year old used in Kenosha a "long gun". I know that's the proper term but they usually say "assault rifle".  Did they get firearms education or are they trying some back door maneuver? ???

"Long gun" sounds like a new strategy to attack ANY shoulder fired weapon. Assault weapons hasn't worked, so time to change hats.

I agree with Dee..it looks like an attempt to classify ALL rifles, shotguns etc.,  along with the so-called "assault rifle"..

  They are just trying to get ready to, where if they get elected, they can demand that all of them get turned in !
