Those poles have fuses in case of a downed line short. Phase to phase or to ground or neutral.
Ground fault interrupters, transient eliminators. It's all code now. The question now is, can all of
this fancy stuff catch it quick enough before it's starts a fire? Transmission loss detectors, if a high
tension voltage transmission line all of a sudden is broken, it trips immediately. Even before it would hit the ground.
If those idiots are screwing around like that, they could instantly become a crispy critter before it trips.
Unless they hit a sub station with transformer banks, which is highly unlikely.
