Way to go Lloyd, worry doesn't help a thing. ...But don't think for one moment, that I am attempting to make any prognostications. Far from it, I am only suggesting that folks observe the signs, and appreciate the word of God. No sin in that !
Sure, Grandma said such things, and her grandma before her, but there were some things that prevented some expectations from coming about. For instance; we are told that the 2 witnesses would lie dead in Jerusalem...and the whole world would observe their bodies laying there in 'live time'. This would have been impossible, before television and satellite observation.
No, I sure don't worry about the return of Jesus, but rather look forward in anticipation, should it happen in my lifetime.
Sure...Christians, ever since there have been Christians, have looked toward "the signs of the times", but with hopeful fascination, rather than morbid conclusions.
We were instructed to look for his return, almost from day #1. He said he wanted his disciples to live as though he was returning the next day.
Yes, I have heard people offer conjectures upon His return, ever since I was a child, and no doubt that has gone on since his resurrection.
While I am not suggesting to that any here are in that group, we should keep in mind that we were warned that through the ages, there would be people who are so into the world, that they will try to belittle the folks who do look forward to that day with a sense of fulfilment.
