He sent me a message saying he was. He didn't say why, just that he was leaving. I'm still in contact with him by email, Pete was my friend and still is.

That's a shame if we're talking Darkgael.  He's online now.  I hope he stays - even if he only posts periodically.  He's a voice for reflection and further consideration.  He is One Of Us.

Pete dosent seem like a person that’s easily offended. You must a misunderstood him. He does make some think. Personally I like him, I mean who can not like a man that hunts grouse with a parker shotgun or a custom Fowler.

No, he was very clear in what he said to me, I didn't misunderstand him.  I would copy and paste it but I think it was something he wanted it to stay private. Not without his approval. Bill if you want to look in on that PM it's ok with me.

I guess if he wants to post he can and will, and if hes quiting and wants to say why, he can, and will.
He's definitely tolerant, and thick skinned, so I don't think he takes any of us seriously enough to get his feelings hurt.
Me and him have agreed on topics, and disagreed on topics, and he no doubt is more open minded than me.
Maybe he needs a break, or just wants to hang out with a better class of people.

Dee,he never said anything about that, or name names. I have his email account, maybe I will ask him. We used to talk about astronomy a lot.

I have no way to do that David. PMs are private and I have no access to them.

I do have his e-mail address but likely won't contact him but rather honor his desire to leave if that's what he wants. I would like to know why he has decided to leave but if he wants me to know he can contact me to let me know.
