First family test positive for Covid-19.

I tested negative but after spending some time in that hospital I'm beginning to wonder. Eastern MC in Roswell, not a very good place to end up in. For what ever reason.

Not really news is it?  Everybody's gonna get it sooner or later.  Tough timing though maybe.  Trump's base is firm.  Hope he's OK to put his foot up Biden's ass in the next debate.

I’m confident they will be alright. They have access to hydroxychloriquine and the other meds that most of us are not privy to and the best doctors.

No worries, it's just the flu and Clorox injections have most certainly started.

I hope he doesn't win the Herman Cain award for not wearing a mask.

As far as hydroxychloriquine goes the FDA has said this...
"June 15, 2020 Update: Based on ongoing analysis and emerging scientific data, FDA has revoked the emergency use authorization (EUA) to use hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine to treat COVID-19 in certain hospitalized patients when a clinical trial is unavailable or participation is not feasible. We made this determination based on recent results from a large, randomized clinical trial in hospitalized patients that found these medicines showed no benefit for decreasing the likelihood of death or speeding recovery. This outcome was consistent with other new data, including those showing the suggested dosing for these medicines are unlikely to kill or inhibit the virus that causes COVID-19. As a result, we determined that the legal criteria for the EUA are no longer met."

"Everybody's gonna get it sooner or later."

I hope not... with the current fatality rate we would be looking at about 10 MILLION deaths...

Give statistics to PROVE that.
None exist, or even  hint at it except political campaign BS.

It is in the same family as the common cold, every one WILL get it sooner or later.

Maybe you should do a bit more research. Of course that would totally debunk your liberal information base aye? Once in the hospital it is a bit late for hydroxychloriquine treatment, butt if you did some research you would already know that. Sure hope you and the flounder don’t get the Herman Cain award...

Current fatality rate = 2.9%
US population = 330,000,000
0.029 X 330,000,000 = 9,570,000

"That statement is in direct opposition to other country's and expert's experience with HCQ. Interesting to note in countries where HCQ is sold over the counter (for malaria prevention) Coronavirus infections are very low and not a huge problem."

Sources and statistics please, which countries???  Side note, why isn't the President getting HQC now????  If he was taking it why did he get sick????

It does not block infection. It only helps the progression into the second phase. Butt of course all the a wholes already knew that?

And NWBear, if you really REALLY want stats and references on HCQ outside of the Fauci-CDC-FDA-NHI crucible you can do that simply and not wasting time.  Just go to www.sott.net
Click the magnifying glass search icon
type in hydroxychloroquine
and click 'search'

Voila! _ _ you will get about 40 references from around the globe on HCQ.  Enjoy.

Current fatality rate = 2.9%
US population = 330,000,000
0.029 X 330,000,000 = 9,570,000
Fake news.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention currently has a best guess of 0.65% for the IFR. But current estimates fall anywhere between 0.2% and 1%, a surprisingly large range when calculating the infection fatality rate should be as simple as dividing the number of deaths by total infections. And these estimates are changing all the time. In fact, in the time it took to write this article, the CDC changed its best estimate of the fatality rate from 0.26% to 0.65%.

We are two researchers who take a mathematical approach to solving epidemiological and biomedical problems. Back in early March, we published a paper showing that millions more people had been infected with COVID-19 than official case counts reflected. But when we tried to use our results to calculate IFR in the U.S., we encountered firsthand just how difficult it is to do.

To calculate the infection fatality rate, researchers need to know three things: the number of infections, the number of deaths from infections and which deaths go with which infections. But finding these numbers is far harder than it might seem and these difficulties explain why there has been, and continues to be, so much uncertainty regarding this important number.

How many infections?

Knowing how many people have been infected with the coronavirus is the first step to estimating the fatality rate.

The number of officially reported cases reflects only the number of diagnosed cases which is far less than the real number of people who have been infected.

Since health officials can't test everyone, one way to estimate the rate of infection in a population is to test a smaller group of people for signs of previous infection, regardless of whether they have had symptoms. If the smaller group is chosen in a way that makes it demographically representative of the larger population, then researchers can assume the infection rates they find in their test groups are close to the actual population-wide numbers.

By taking this approach, researchers have now shown that the total number of infections is likely much larger than the number of diagnosed cases. For example, researchers in New York now estimate that by the end of March, over 2 million residents of New York State had been infected. At the time, there were only 76,000 confirmed infections.

Our study took a different approach. We looked at records of doctors visits with patients that had flu-like symptoms but not the flu. By accounting for the number of people who would only have mild symptoms of COVID-19 and would not go to the doctors, we estimate that during the last three weeks of March over 8.7 million Americans were infected with SARS-CoV-2. During the same three week period, official case counts recorded just over 100,000 new infections within the U.S.

Putting this all together, it's now clear that there have been many more infections than confirmed cases, likely by a factor of 20 or more.

Paranoia strikew deep, into your life it will creep.
A medical doctor , on a local news station said yesterday, another stat. that is not reported is how many fatalities had DNR, Do NOT Resuscitate at the same time reports of people in their 80s surviving, is not reported and there  have been many, while the rare cases of youths is spread quickly on the major networks.

Well, we can speculate about things we really dont know anything about, argue with Trump detractors, which I won't do or;

I choose to hope, and pray for the best president in my lifetime.

My frail, 88 year old mother walked through Covid 19 with great ease, and no symptoms. My prayers are that Donald Trump and his wife do the same.

Not all people are alike, wouldnt it depend on ones immune system strength? Some are weak while some are strong. Did they have something else going on before this?

I stand corrected.  With an IFR (mortality vs. infections) of .65%  We should only see about 2 Million deaths from corona if everyone gets infected.
Sorry for the error.

As it has statically zero effect on youth, you numbers are still way over exaggerated.
Adding to that fact, the death toll is only high in those with other problems leading to death you are simply paranoid or like the Democrats say, never let a tragedy go to waste.

At that a good friend of mine, his daughter had it.
Now this is a family of six who see each other every week , continually, he baby sits her kid near every week, she more or less just stayed in her bedroom (she lives with her sister) for most of two weeks and then mingled with her family as she had before.
No one else showed signs , or was tested, and life went on.
Her father, the baby sitter,  has heart problems, his father and two of his brother died because the inherited problem, and he is not paranoid and just goes on with his life.
His wife a registered nurse, was permanently laid off due to the Chinese Virus paranoia. (The hospital all but totally shut down.)
