Cant get any ammo, can't get any guns.

I ran into a gun store owner i know at the grocery store and asked how things were going.
And this is what he said,and he's been waiting for an ammo shipment he ordered and paid for last month.
He said it might get better after the election, but he doubted that.

I was surprised at the shortages of things
like knives and archery gear and black
powder and muzzle loading guns and
accoutrements and "non tactical " things.
Never thought I'd see seeds and gardening
tools and canning supplies sell out in this
area either. Some of this stuff surprised me.
I guess I shouldn't have been surprised though.

  Those other things being bought may be good news.  Perhaps some of those who wandered into a LGS for the first time, or first time in years..suddenly develope an interest in hunting/shooting.  We need more people willing to vote with us !

only the stupid dont already have plenty of guns and ammo. I dont feel sorry a bit for the ones that cant find it. I did cut back though. I limited myself to 300 rounds a week. At that rate ill still have ammo 10 years from now and thats being conserative with my estimate. With the powder and primers anything that shoots a cast bullet will still be on the shelf to the day i die.

When my .22 K-Hornet comes home from the gunsmith, I plan to try some cast bullets in it.  I have a couple .225" molds but one of them I've yet to master and getting good bullets from it is a challenge.

My .300 blackout is my cast bullet king.  I make low powered loads with a .32 revolver bullet mold that shoot tiny groups at 30 to 50 yards...

Oil field traffic seems to bust it up a bit. But then you have wet black ice, even worse.

No ice here, it's 78 tho partly cloudy. We're expecting rain tonight and the next couple of days. It's early to be sure but they are now showing hurricane Zeta coming over us. Of course this far inland it will be mostly petered out by the time it gets here. They are only talking an inch and a half or so of rain here from it. Spin up tornadoes tho are always possible.

You've never been in the Arctic. We used to put smudge pots under the vehicles oil pans at night to keep the oil warm. Or if you started them, you had no oil pressure. You ever been in 75 below? Ive seen diesel gel up.
We had to wear dark tinted goggles, so not to become snow blinded. Where the chill factor could freeze your eyes. You wouldn't last 10 minutes.

You guys can have your cold weather, I've lived my entire life in the deep south and figure 40 is pretty dang cold tho does make for good sleeping weather at night.

As to ammo at the current rate of consumption I figure by the time I'm 150 I'll be getting low and will have to do something between now and then to get more components.

Of course that's just a guess and I suppose I could run low on some calibers by the time I'm only around 140 years old.

NOT True David. I did hunt dinosaurs in my early years but I was partying with the Pharaoh's concubines while he was getting drunk. But that was when I was much younger. These days I can't keep up with all those concubines.

Oh no my favorite T Rex rifle was a fine highly engraved and gold inlaid double rifle in .740 caliber. It was heavy but in those younger days I was 10' tall and superman so the weight didn't matter.

For some reason when I tell my youngest grandson about my dinosaur hunting days he doesn't believe it all even tho he often tells me I'm as old as dinosaurs.
